3. Make the correct TCP/IP settings for your PC: a. Install the TCP/IP protocol for your PC if it has not yet been installed. b. From the Windows Start button on your PC, choose settings, and select the Control Panel item. Quick Installation Guide for Broadband Router (NRB4) or Wireless Broadband Router (WRB54+) A. Hardware Installation 3. Double click the Network icon. Select the TCP/IP line that has been associated to your network card in the Configuration tab of the Network window. 4. Click on the Properties button. Click the IP Address tab. Select "Obtain an IP Address automatically". Note: The picture shown here refers to the wireless Broadband Router (WRB54+). The configuration process is similar when using the Broadband router model (NRB4). 1. Setup LAN connection: connect an Ethernet cable from your computer's Ethernet port to one of the LAN ports of this product. 2. Setup WAN connection: connect the network cable from your cable or ADSL modem to the WAN port of this product. 5. Click the Gateway tab. Clear all of the gateway settings. Click on the OK button. Note: If you want to set the IP of your PC manually, please refer to the User Manual. C. Configuring your Router with your favorite Web Browser 1. Run your favorite browser and disable the proxy or add the IP address of this product into the exception. Then type this product's IP address (for example: http://192.168.0.1) in the Location (for Netscape Communicator) or Address( for Internet Explorer) field and press Enter. 1. Key in the system password (the factory default is "admin") in the System Password field and click on the Log in button. 2. Press the Primary Setup button and the following screen will be shown. 3. Press the Wizard hyperlink in the menu, select the WAN type you use and then press the Save button. 4. Key in the proper values for the settings items shown on the page. For the definitions of the items, please refer to the on-line help or User Manual. 5. After all of the items are set, press the Save button and reboot this product. E. Wireless Settings (Only for Wireless Broadband router - WRB54+model). If you are equipped with a Broadband Router (NRB4), then the wireless menu will not appear, this section of the manual is of no interest. The settings for Wireless function are as follows: 1.SSID: default 2.Channel: The factory setting is as follow: channel 11 for North America and Europe (ETSI); channel 14 for Japan. 1. WEP: disable Wireless clients: For example: (We assume that the clients have already installed the wireless card driver and Utility) 1. Select: SSID "default", then "Connect", like above. 2. If DHCP Server is activated, the wireless clients will get one IP address 192.168.0.xxx allocated by the wireless router. In Win 2000 or XP, go to command mode and key "ipconfig": INFORMATION ON WIRELESS OPTION FOR THE BROADBAND ROUTER ­ Model NRB4 An optional Wireless Kit (P/N : WPC-KIT) can transform your Broadband router (NRB4 model) into a full Wireless Broaband router working at 120/54/22/11 Mbps ­ IEEE802.11g++ compliant. You can contact your current dealer or Comet labs contact to purchase this kit. In Win98, go to command mode and key "winipcfg" No specific firmware upgrade is necessary. The wireless Menu will appear automatically as the Wireless module will be detected upon power on process. . The Wireless kit installation process requires the router housing opening. This operation has to be performed by an authorized Comet labs's Maintenance Center available near your location or by a knowledgeable technician of your dealer. Please set the corresponding settings of the stations which you want to associate with this Wireless Broadband Router.
