Quick Start Guide Set Congratulations on the purchase of your new Abacus® Smart Watch 2006! Your new watch integrates leading-edge wireless technology with trendsetting fashion. When you sign up for MSN® Direct service, you choose exactly which information you want to receive. MSN Direct is a wireless service that delivers content directly to your watch. With a quick glance at your wrist, you'll stay in-the-know on a variety of topics such as news, weather, and sports. Setting up your watch is quick and easy. Just follow the Ready, Set, Go steps. The activation and personalization process takes approximately 20 minutes. If you can't complete all the steps at one time, that's okay. You can stop after any step and continue the process at a later time. Unwrap the power cord that came with your watch, and plug the co into the AC adapter and rd then plug the adapter into an electrical wall outlet. You may also use the USB connector with your computer to charge your watch. Place the charger onto the back of your watch, so that the four magnetic contact points on the charger contact the four contact points on your watch. Turn on your watch. Remove the charger from your watch once the display reads Charged. If your watch does not show anything on the screen, simultaneously press and release the Previous, Enter, and Next buttons. Wait a moment, and a time face should appear on your watch display. To activate the charging sequence, simultaneously press the Previous, Enter, and Next buttons. Activate and personalize the MSN Direct service. Press the Channel button until the Register! screen appears. Allow 6-8 hours for your watch to fully charge. Wait a moment for your watch ID to appear. From a computer with an Internet connection, go to the MSN Direct Web site at www.direct.msn.com/go, and then follow the instructions on the screen. When the Done! page appears, click the Personalize Service Now button, and then follow the instructions on the screen. Go Verify that your watch is activated. If necessary, turn on your watch as described in Step 2 of the Set section. Within 10 minutes, you will receive the current time and date. Within 12 hours, you will receive your personalized content, including a Welcome message. To view the Welcome message, look for the message symbol on your watch screen, or press the Channel button until the Messages channel appears. Wait a moment for the Welcome message to appear. Adjusting the Smart Watch Bracelet To adjust the size of the metal watch bracelet of an Abacus Smart Watch, please follow these instructions. For illustrated instructions, please visit www.msndirect.com/watches/abacus-smart-watch-2006.htm. Open the bracelet. Hold the watch in your left hand, watch face up, and Next, Previous, and Enter buttons facing right. Slide the gray antenna band out from under the metal loop. You will see several plastic pin covers which mark the metal links that you can remove. Place these metal links on a flat surface. Using a paper clip or straight pin, slide it under the edge of TWO side-by-side pin covers and lift up to reveal the pins. Using a paper clip or straight pin, pop out the two revealed pins from the side; the link will come away easily (note: you may remove more than one link at a time; simply reveal and pop out two more pins). To reconnect the watch bracelet, align the pin holes and feed pin(s) through the holes. Then snap the pin cover(s) closed. Slide the antenna band back under the metal loop and try the watch on for comfort. Repeat these steps until the watch fits comfortably. Congratulations! Your MSN Direct service is now activated and personalized. You should receive a Welcome message on your watch shortly and a confirmation email within 24 hours. You can return to the Channels tab at www.direct.msn.com at any time to change your selections. Note: If you do not see the message symbol on your watch screen, see the Frequently Asked Questions section in the Reference Guide available at www.msndirect.com. Synchronization may be affected by reception limitations of the FM network as well as other factors, which may affect the ability to receive FM broadcasts. Separate download required. With regard to the software that is embedded in your watch, Microsoft grants to you a non-exclusive, revocable, personal, non-transferable license to use such software solely in connection with the Service. Microsoft reserves all rights to such software not expressly granted to you in this Agreement. Such software is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws and treaties. Microsoft or its suppliers own the title, copyright, and other intellectual property rights in such software, and such software is licensed, not sold. The license granted you under this section for such software will terminate on the date your Service subscription terminates. Microsoft may disable such software after the date the Service terminates. You will not disassemble, decompile, or reverse engineer, such software or any equipment included in the Service. Microsoft may automatically check your version of such software and may automatically download upgrades to such software to your Device to update, enhance and further develop the Service.
