Press the navigation key right. } Your mobile phone has two built-in cameras. The main camera is 3.2 megapixel and includes auto focus to take crisp and clear pictures. There is also a video call camera, located above the screen, that activates during a video call. The horizontal user interface means you can handle the camera more easily. The built-in photo light allows you to take pictures in dark environments. The phone memory capacity is up to 16 MB internally and can be extended with a Memory Stick MicroTM (M2TM), also referred to as a memory card. You can save your camera pictures in four different sizes: 3 MP 2048×1536, 2 MP 1632×1224, 1 MP 1280×960, VGA 640×480. This allows you to decide on the number of pictures you can save in your phone memory or on your memory card. Before taking a picture, you can change settings and add effects or frames. After taking a picture, you can use the PhotoDJTM to add effects, frames or clipart objects to the picture. You can send pictures or video clip in a picture message (MMS), as email attachments or send them to a blog. You can also use a picture as a screen saver or wallpaper, or save it together with a contact so that the picture appears when that person calls. To use email and picture messaging (MMS), you must subscribe to these services. Please check with your network operator. You can also exchange pictures using the USB cable that comes with your phone or BluetoothTM wireless technology. 2 September 2007 Getting started Camera Photo fix Photo fix improves an under-exposed picture by calculating and adjusting the light balance in the picture % 6 To use Photo fix. PictBridgeTM Pictures taken with your camera can be printed on a PictBridge compatible printer using the USB cable or a memory card. No computer or additional photo editing software is needed, but the printer must be PictBridge compatible % 17 Printing a picture with PictBridge. Activating the camera and video recorder To activate the camera and video recorder from standby mode, slide open the lens cover. The picture is saved in your phone memory or on your memory card and can be found in File manager } Camera album. Camera functionality To take a self-portrait 1. Hold the phone so that you can see your reflection in the mirror next to the lens. 2. Press to take the picture. You can also use the self-timer, % 8 Turn on self-timer. To use the zoom · Use the volume buttons on the side of the phone to zoom. Zoom is available when you record video clips and take VGA-size pictures. 5 September 2007 Getting started Camera Brightness An adjustment to make the picture or video clip darker or brighter. To adjust brightness 1. Slide open the lens cover. 2. Use the navigation key to adjust brightness. Press once to decrease brightness or once to increase brightness. Press and hold or to continuously increase or decrease the brightness. Photo fix If a picture you have just captured turns out to be under-exposed you can use Photo fix to improve the picture. To use Photo fix 1. With the under-exposed picture on your screen } More } Photo fix. 2. } OK to save the adjusted picture, or } Undo to go back to the original picture. After saving a picture you will be able to, for example, send the picture or edit it in PhotoDJTM. Blog Send pictures to publish in a blog if your subscription supports it. Web services may require a separate licence agreement between you and your service provider. In some locations, additional regulations and/or charges may apply. For more information, contact your service provider. To send a just taken picture to a blog 1. When viewing a picture you have just taken } More } Blog this. 2. Add title and text } OK } Publish to send a picture to your blog. 3. Follow the instructions that appear for first-time use, for example, approve terms and conditions. A text message is sent to your phone with your Web address and log-in information. You can save the address as a bookmark or forward the text message for others to access your Web page photos. To send a picture to a blog from File manager 1. } File manager and select a picture in a folder. } More } Send } To blog. 2. Add title and text } OK } Publish. 3. Follow the instructions that appear for first-time use, for example, approve terms and conditions. To add a blog address to a contact 1. 2. 3. 4. } Contacts and select a contact. } More } Edit contact. } Web address: and enter the address to a blog. } Save to save the address. To visit a blog address in a contact · } Contacts and select a contact Web address } Go to. 6 September 2007 Getting started Camera Camera options When taking a picture, you can select different settings to personalize or change the appearance of the picture. You can, for example, use Panorama to combine several pictures into one wide picture. You can also select Picture size for saving your picture in 3 MP 2048×1536, 2 MP 1632×1224, 1 MP 1280×960, VGA 640×480. Scenes adapt the camera to a bright, dark or fast moving surrounding. Turn on self-timer makes it possible for the photographer to participate in the picture too. Effects provides several colour selections to choose from and White balance gives you the best colour options for your surroundings. To enter the Settings menu · When the camera is activated } Settings to view more options before you take a picture. Scenes · Auto ­ automatic settings for your surroundings. · Twilight landscape ­ to be used at night or in dark environments. · Twilight portrait ­ to be used at night or in dark environments. · Landscape ­ use for landscape pictures. Settings for focus to prioritize distant objects. · Portrait ­ use for portrait pictures. Settings for emphasis on flesh tones and a slightly softer appearance. · Beach/Snow ­ use in bright environments. · Sports ­ use for pictures of fast-moving objects. · Document ­ use for pictures of text or drawings. Picture size · 3 MP ­ suitable for printing in A4 or letter size (2048×1536 pixels). · 2 MP ­ (1632×1224 pixels). · 1 MP ­ suitable for printing in postcard size (1280×960 pixels). · VGA ­ suitable for email attachments or for printing in credit card size (640×480 pixels). In the bottom left corner of the screen you can see the number of pictures that can be saved in your phone memory or on your memory card. Note that this number changes as you change the picture size. If you select a smaller picture size, you can save more pictures than if you select a larger picture size. Focus · Auto ­ use to focus automatically on the object in the centre of the viewfinder (press camera button halfway down to activate the auto focus, then press all the way to take a picture). · Macro ­ use for close-ups. · Infinite ­ use when taking photos at a distance (this disables the auto focus). 7 September 2007 Getting started Camera Turn on light Light can be used to enhance lighting conditions when taking a picture at close range or in a dark environment. Turn on self-timer When the self-timer is selected, the picture is taken 8 ­ 10 seconds after beeps slowly and then quicker just before the picture is taken.
