For more detailed instructions, view the Online Help after the software has been installed. Introduction Using Online Help To open Online Help, do either of the following: - Click on the [Start] button, select [Programs], then [Olympus DSS Player 2002], then click on [Help]. - While DSS Player 2002 is running, choose [Contents] from the [Help] menu. <> After opening Online Help 1 2 1 2 Double-click on the icon of the desired topic heading. The title of the topic is displayed. A list of keywords by which you can search is displayed. Enter text. Matching keywords are located automatically. Choose a topic, then click on [Display]. An explanation of the topic is displayed. 6 Installing DSS Player 2002 You need to enter the license ID that is supplied with the product during installation to run this software. Notes · If you intend to use speech recognition software, install it first. For instruction on installing the speech recognition software, refer to the user's guide supplied with the speech recognition software. Getting Ready · If you are running Windows 2000/XP (Professional only) on a network, you need to log on as an administrator. 1 Insert the DSS Player CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. The installation program will start automatically. Note If the installer does not launch automatically, follow these steps (it is assumed that the CD-ROM drive is assigned drive letter D:): (1) Click on the [Start] button and select [Run]. (2) Enter "D:/Setup.exe" in the [Open] field and click on [OK]. 2 The installation Language Selection dialog box opens. Click on the desired language to select it. 7 DSS Player 2002 INSTALLATION GUIDE 3 4 Getting Ready Click on [Next] when the DSS Player 2002 opening screen appears. Confirm your acceptance of the terms of the Licensing Agreement. You must accept the terms of the Licensing Agreement to install DSS Player 2002. If you accept them, click on [Yes]. 5 6 Register user information. Register user information. Enter your name, company name, and license ID number (serial number). The license ID number is printed on the license ID card. Click on [Next]. A confirmation dialog box opens, click on [Yes]. Select where to install DSS Player 2002. This lets you specify the folder in which to install DSS Player 2002. Click on [Browse] to find the desired installation folder. To accept the default folder, click on [Next]. Note If the installation folder does not exist, a confirmation dialog box opens to get your permission to create a folder for this purpose. Click on [Yes]. 8 7 8 9 10 11 12 Select a program menu folder. You may change the program menu folder to another one, such as [Start Up]. To accept the default folder, click on [Next]. Authorizing the start of file copying. Confirm all "Current Settings". To accept them, click on [Next]. Note To change the program menu folder or installation folder, click on [Back]. Getting Ready Copy files. Wait until DSS Player 2002 is installed on your PC, then click on [Finish]. Set up Acrobat Reader. When the Acrobat Reader Setup dialog box opens, click on [Next]. Select where to install Acrobat Reader. Specify the folder in which to install Acrobat Reader. To accept the default folder, click on [Next]. Setup Status. Wait until Acrobat Reader is installed on your PC. 9 DSS Player 2002 INSTALLATION GUIDE 13 14 Getting Ready Exit Acrobat Reader setup. When the Exit Setup dialog box opens, click on [OK]. Install Shield Wizard complete. You may be requested to restart your PC when setup is complete. If so, make sure that [Yes, I want to restart my PC now.] is selected before clicking on [Finish]. Then, when the message to do so appears, shut your PC off and restart it. Note When you start Windows after DSS Player 2002 has been installed, displayed on the taskbar. is 10 Uninstalling DSS Player 2002 The process of removing software installed on your PC is called uninstalling. Perform uninstalling when you no longer need the software. 1 2 3 4 Exit DSS Player. Click on the [Start] button, select [Programs], then [Olympus DSS Player 2002]. (in Windows XP, click on the [Start] button, select [All Programs], then [Olympus DSS Player 2002].) Getting Ready Click on [Uninstall Olympus DSS Player 2002]. Follow the directions on screen to start the uninstall process. 2 3 11 DSS Player 2002 INSTALLATION GUIDE Connecting the DS-2000 Digital Recorder Notes · Make sure you finish installing DSS Player 2002 before connecting the DS2000. If you connect the DS-2000 before installing DSS Player 2002, the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box will open. If this happens, click on [Cancel] to exit the wizard, then install DSS Player 2002 ( P.7). · Before connecting the USB cable to the DS-2000, make sure that the DS2000 is in the stop mode, with its rear-panel POWER/LOCK switch ON and that the HOLD switch is not set to the HOLD position.  Getting Ready 1 2 Insert end A of the USB cable to your PC's USB port or USB hub. Confirm that the DS-2000 is not in use before attaching end b of the USB cable to the PC terminal port of the DS-2000. Notes · Refer to the user's manual for your PC regarding the USB port or USB hub on your PC. · Be sure to push the cable connector all the way in. Otherwise, the recorder may not operate properly. · Never remove the USB cable while a communication session is in progress. Data files could be damaged if you do. 12 Starting DSS Player 2002 To start DSS Player 2002, follow these steps: Note It is assumed that the DSS Player 2002 has been installed. Introduccion Utilisation de l'Aide en ligne Pour ouvrir l'Aide en ligne, exécuter l'une des deux opération suivantes: - Sous Windows, cliquez sur le bouton [Démarrer], sélectionnez [Programmes], puis [Olympus DSS Player 2002], et cliquez ensuite sur [Aide]. - Lorsque le DSS Player est en marche, choisissez [Sommaire de l'aide] dans le menu [Aide]. <> Après avoir ouvert l'Aide en ligne, 1 2 1 2 Cliquez deux fois sur le symbole de la rubrique qui vous intéresse. Le titre de la rubrique est affiché. Cliquez deux fois sur le symbole de la rubrique qui vous intéresse. Un commentaire explicatif de la rubrique est affiché. 6 Installation de DSS Player 2002 Il est nécessaire d'entrer une identité de licence fournie avec le produit pendant l'installation pour faire fonctionner ce logiciel. Remarques · Si le logiciel de reconnaissance vocale doit être utilisé, l'installer en premier. En ce qui concerne les instructions d'installation du logiciel de reconnaissance vocale, se référer au guide de l'utilisateur fourni avec le logiciel de reconnaissance vocale. · Si vous utilisez Windows 2000/XP (Professional seulement) en réseau, vous devrez vous inscrire comme administrateur. Préparation 1 Insérer le CD-ROM de DSS Player dans le lecteur de CD-ROM. Le programme d'installation démarre automatiquement. Remarque Si l'installateur n'est pas lancé automatiquement , suivre ces étapes (il est supposé que la lettre de lecteur D est assignée au lecteur de CD-ROM). (1) Sous Windows, cliquez sur [Démarrer], puis choisissez [Exécuter]. (2) Dans la zone [Ouvrir], tapez "D:/ Setup. exe" et cliquez sur [OK]. 2 La boîte de dialogue permettant de sélectionner la langue à utiliser pour l'installation est affichée. Cliquez sur la langue souhaitée. 7 DSS Player 2002 GUIDE D'INSTALLATION 3 4 Préparation Cliquez sur [SUIVANT] lorsque l'écran de démarrage du logiciel DSS Player 2002 est affiché. Confirmation de l'acceptation des termes du contrat de licence. Pour pouvoir installer le DSS Player 2002, vous devez accepter les termes du contrat de licence. Si vous les acceptez, cliquez sur [Oui]. 5 6 Enregistrez les informations utilisateur. Enregistrez les informations utilisateur. Entrez votre nom, le nom de votre société, et le no. d'identification (ID) de licence (le numéro de série). Le no. d'identification de licence figure sur la carte d'identification de licence. Cliquez sur [Suivant]. Une boîte de dialogue de confirmation s'ouvre; cliquez sur [Oui]. Sélectionner le dossier où le DSS Player 2002 devra être installé. Spécifiez ici le dossier dans lequel vous souhaitez installer le DSS Player 2002. Cliquez sur [Parcourir] pour rechercher le dossier d'installation souhaité. Pour accepter le dossier proposé par défaut, cliquez sur [Suivant]. Remarque Si le dossier d'installation n'existe pas encore, une boîte de dialogue s'ouvre, dans laquelle vous pouvez confirmer la création d'un dossier réservé à l'installation. Cliquez sur [Oui]. 8 7 8 9 10 11 12 Sélectionnez un dossier de programme. Vous pouvez renommer le dossier de programme, [Démarrage], par ex. Pour accepter le dossier par défaut, cliquez sur [Suivant]. Démarrer la copie des fichiers. Confirmez tous les "Configuration actuelle". Pour les accepter, cliquez sur [Suivant]. Préparation Remarque Pour modifier le dossier des menus du programme ou le dossier d'installation, cliquez sur [Précédent]. Copier les fichiers. Patientez jusqu'à ce que le DSS Player 2002 soit installé sur votre PC, puis cliquez sur [Terminer]. Installation d'Acrobat Reader. Lorsque la boîte de dialogue relative à l'installation de Acrobat Reader s'ouvre, cliquez sur [Suivant]. Sélectionnez le dossier d'installation de Acrobat Reader. Si tel est le cas, sélectionnez [Oui, je souhaite redémarrer mon ordinateur maintenant], avant de cliquer sur Terminer. Après affichage du message correspondant, arrêtez votre PC et démarrez-le à nouveau. Remarque Lorsque Windows est démarré après avoir installé DSS Player 2002, s'affiche dans la barre des tâches. 10 Désinstallation de DSS Player 2002 Désinstaller un logiciel se trouvant sur votre PC, c'est effectuer le processus inverse de l'installation d'un logiciel. Si vous n'utilisez plus un logiciel, désinstallez-le. 1 2 Quittez DSS Player 2002. Cliquez sur [Démarrer], choisissez [Programmes], puis sélectionnez [Olympus DSS Player 2002]. (sous Windows XP, cliquez sur [Démarrer], choisissez [Tous les Programmes], puis sélectionnez [Olympus DSS Player 2002].) Préparation 2 3 3 4 Cliquez sur [Désinstallation de Olympus DSS Player 2002]. Suivez les instructions qui s'affichent à l'écran pour la procédure de désinstallation. 11 DSS Player 2002 GUIDE D'INSTALLATION Connexion de l'enregistreur numérique DS-2000 Remarques · Veiller à ce que l'installation de DSS Player 2002 soit terminée avant de connecter le DS-2000. Si le DS-2000 est connecté avant d'avoir installé DSS Player 2002, la boîte de dialogue "Ajouter le wizard Nouveau matériel" s'ouvre. Dans ce cas, cliquez sur [Annuler] pour quitter l'assistant, puis installez le DSS Player 2002 ( P.7). · Avant de connecter le câble USB au DS-2000, s'assurer que le DS-2000 est en mode Arrêt avec l'interrupteur de son panneau arrière POWER/LOCK sur la position de marche et que l'interrupteur HOLD n'est pas réglé sur la position HOLD.  Préparation 1 2 Insérez l'extrémité A du câble USB dans le port USB de votre PC ou dans le hub USB. Assurez-vous que le DS-2000 n'est pas en marche, avant d'insérer l'extrémité b du câble USB dans le port PC du DS-2000. Remarques · Voir le manuel de votre PC pour de plus amples détails sur le connecteur USB ou le hub USB de votre PC. · Assurez-vous que le câble est inséré à fond. Sinon, l'enregistreur ne pourra pas fonctionner correctement. · Ne jamais retirer le câble USB pendant qu'une session de communication est en cours. Les données des fichiers pourraient être endommagées. 12 Démarrage de DSS Player 2002 Pour démarrer DSS Player 2002, suivre ces étapes. Remarque Il est supposé que DSS Player 2002 a été installé.
