Select [Administrator], [Operator], or [Guest] then enter password, click [OK]. The start window appears. Specifications of the web browser · Java enabled browser For Windows98/Me/NT4.0/2000 Internet Explorer v5.5 + SP2 or later or Netscape Communicator v4.7, v6.0 For Windows XP Internet Explorer v6.0 or later or Netscape Communicator v6.0 For Mac OS Internet Explorer v5.0 1. Start up web browser. 2. In the address column of the browser enter the print controller's IP address. Then press [Enter]. WebTools login window pops up. · The above window appears when the administrator logs in. · For the password, contact the controller's administrator. · For how to set the password, see the User's Manual of your print controller. · When password is not set, automatically logging in the system as the administrator. When password is not set, Fiery WebTools start window appears. 4 How to read Fiery WebTools window The following window appears after logging in the Fiery WebTools. Status WebDownloader Installer WebScan Configure appears only when Administrator logs in. When the button at the left side is clicked, setting window for each item appears. The following are the main features of the Fiery WebTools. Status For status check of the job which print controller is processing. Reference (page 6) WebLink The link to the EFI site. For the details of WebLink, please refer to the User's Manual of your print controller. WebDownloader TIFF, PDF, PS or EPS format file can be sent to print controller as print job. This feature enables file printing without installing printer driver or special application. Reference (page 7) WebSetup For Java setting. For the details of WebSetup, please refer to the User's Manual of your print controller. Installer Install files such as printer driver and Command WorkStation can be downloaded. Reference (page 8) WebScan Scanned job stored in Mailbox of print controller can be downloaded to your PC hard disk drive. Reference (page 9) 5 About Status Fiery WebTools Status window enables to check the jobs which print controller is processing. 1. Login Fiery WebTools and click [Status] at the left. The status window appears. The Administrator may be limiting accessible functions. If the [Status] is not displayed, contact the controller's administrator. Following can be checked in status window. Item Status User Document Copies Float Description Displays job being processed. The job being processed is indicated as "Engine Under Operation". Displays the user name. Displays the file name of the job. Displays number of pages being processed. Displays right side of the window in a separate window when [Float] is clicked. 6 About WebDownloader When using WebDownloader, TIFF, PDF, PS and EPS format files can be sent to print controller as print job. The above four types of file can be printed without installing printer driver or special application. 3. 4. Click [Browse]. The dialogue appears. Specify a file to be sent to print controller then click [OK]. 1. Login Fiery WebTools and click [WebDwonloader] at the left. The WebDownloader window appears. Files other than TIFF, PDF, PS and EPS format cannot be sent. 5. Click [Downloader]. The specified file is sent to print controller as a print job. When [2: Hold Queue] is specified in step 2, use Command WorkStation to print the file. For the details of Command WorkStation, see the User's Manual of your print controller. The Administrator may be limiting accessible functions. If the [WebDownloader] is not displayed, contact the controller's administrator. 2. From the Destination drop-down list, select the status of the queue you want to send. 1: Print Queue The file is sent to print queue and printed. 2: Hold Queue The file is sent to hold queue and held in the print controller. (File is not printed.) Use the Command WorkStation to printout the held job. Do not select [0: Direct Connection] of the Destination list. When [0: Direct Connection] is selected, the other users cannot access print controller. 7 About Installer On Fiery WebTools Installer window, files necessary to install Command WorkStation and printer driver can be downloaded. 1. Login Fiery WebTools and click [Installer] at the left. The installer window appears. The Administrator may be limiting accessible functions. If the [Installer] is not displayed, contact the controller's administrator. 2. 3. Click the item you want to download. Specify the directory to save the file then Click [OK]. The specified set-up file is downloaded to the PC. For the installation procedure, please refer to the User's Manual of your print controller. 8 About WebScan WebScan enables to download Scanned job stored in Mailbox of print controller to your PC hard disk drive. 3. Enter a Box No. in the Mailbox then click [Refresh]. The scanned jobs stored in the Box are listed. Open WebScan 1. Login Fiery Web Tools. The login window appears. The Box No. is controlled in 4-digit number. If 1 is entered, jobs in the Box No.0001 are listed. 2. Click [WebScan] at the left. The WebScan window appears. The Administrator may be limiting accessible functions. If the [WebScan] is not displayed, contact the controller's administrator. 9 About WebScan (Continued) How to read WebScan window When clicking the and , which appear when the item is clicked, the list is sorted. Enter a Box No. in the Mailbox. Updates the list when refresh is clicked. The jobs stored in the box are listed. To specify download file type. Specifies the image to be downloaded. Deletes the selected job. Download the selected job. The following are the main features of the Web Scan. Item [Mailbox] column Refresh File Format Description The jobs stored in the Box are listed when a box number is entered and [Refresh] is clicked. Updates the list. Specifies the format of the file to be downloaded to the PC. File format: Select JPEG, TIFF or PDF. * For JPEG, only full-color can be selected. Specifies the image to be downloaded. All: Download all pages. Unable to specify [All] if JPEG is selected in the file format. Page: Delete Save As Download only specified pages. Deletes the selected job from Mailbox. Downloads the specified job to the PC. Page 10 About WebScan (Continued) Download a file in PDF format When the job stored in a box is downloaded with PDF format, Internet Explorer starts up. In this case, select [Save as] from the tool-bar of the Acrobat plug-in then save the PDF file. 6. Click [Save As]. Internet Explorer starts up. If Acrobat plug in is not installed, Acrobat Reader starts up. 1. 2. Display WebScan window referring the procedure in page 9. Enter the Box No. that includes the job you want to download in the Mailbox column then click [Refresh]. The jobs stored in the Box are listed. If Acrobat plug in is not installed, Acrobat Reader starts up. 7. Click [Save As] ( the PC. ) to store PDF file on 3. 4. 5. Select the job you want to download from the list. Click from the File Format then select PDF from drop-down list. Specifies the page to be downloaded in page field. Select [All] to download all the pages in a job. 11 About WebScan (Continued) Download a file in JPEG format When the job stored in a box is downloaded with JPEG format, Internet Explorer starts up. In this case, select [Save as] from the tool-bar of the Acrobat plug-in then save the JPEG file. 5. Specify the page to be downloaded in page field. [All] is unavailable to download JPEG format. JPEG format download is available only for the fullcolor. 6. 7. Click [Save As]. Internet Explorer starts up. 1. 2. Click [Save As] from [File] menu of the Internet Explore to store JPEG file on the PC. Display WebScan window referring the procedure in page 9. Enter the Box No. that includes the job you want to download in the Mailbox column then click [Refresh]. The jobs stored in the Box are listed. 3. 4. Select the job you want to download from the list. Click from the File Format then select JPEG from drop-down list. JPEG format download is available only for the fullcolor. 12 About WebScan (Continued) Download a file in TIFF format Scanned job stored in Mailbox of print controller can be downloaded to your PC hard disk drive with TIFF format. 6. Click [Save As]. FTP Download window appears. 1. 2. Display WebScan window referring the procedure in page 9. Enter the Box No. that includes the job you want to download in the Mailbox column then click [Refresh]. The jobs stored in the Box are listed. 7. Select [Open this file from its current location] or [Save this file to disk] then click [OK]. Open this file from its current location: Internet Explorer starts up and selected job appears. Click [Save As] ( ) then store TIFF file on the PC. 3. 4. 5. Select the job you want to download from the list. Click from the File Format then select TIFF from drop-down list. Specify the page to be downloaded in page field. Save this file to disk: Specify the directory to save the TIFF file. When Download complete window appears, click [Close]. TIFF file is stored on the PC. Select [All] to download all the pages in a job. 13 About Configure button When logging in the Fiery WebTools as Administrator, [Configure] button appears at the left. Administrator can limit access to the following features of Fiery WebTools after clicking [Configure]. · [Configure] does not appear when logging in the Fiery WebTools as Operator or Guest. · If Operator or Guest logs in the WebTools and the necessary features do not appear, contact the controller's administrator. 1. 2. Click [Configure] then the function list appears at the top left. All the check boxes are checked. Uncheck the check box of the function then click [OK] to limit the access. Unchecked function is immediately disappears from the function list at the left top.
