User Addendum Fiery S300 50C-KM Color Server, version 2.0 This document contains information about Fiery S300 50C-KM Color Server software version 2.0. Before using Fiery S300 50C-KM Color Server with version 2.0, make a copy of the User Addendum and distribute it to all users. N OTE : This document uses the term "Fiery S300" to refer to the Fiery S300 50C-KM Color Server. Before printing to the Fiery S300, make sure that user and system software version 2.0 are installed on the Fiery S300. Installation and Setup Installing printer drivers using Point and Print or from the User Software CD When you install the printer driver using Point and Print or from the User Software CD, the default setting for print options is different. Installing the USB dongle for Compose A USB dongle is required to use the Compose option. For USB dongle activation information, see the documentation that accompanies the Compose kit. Printing Custom page sizes on Mac OS 9 When you print custom page sizes, you must correctly set the paper size at the copier. If there is a mismatch between the requested paper size and the paper size set at the copier, the image might be truncated. Custom paper imageable area on Mac OS 9 When you print custom page size jobs from Mac OS 9, the image might be clipped for some custom paper sizes. Preview icon for Finishing option The Preview icon for the Finishing option in the Windows Me printer driver does not display correctly for the selected Finishing option setting. Mac OS 9 Mac OS Runtime for Java To install Fiery S300 utilities on a Mac OS 9 computer, you must install Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ) version 2.2.5 or later in the System Folder. The MRJ can be obtained from the Mac OS 9 User Software CD or from Apple's website. Copyright 2005 © Electronics for Imaging, Inc. Part Number: 45051108 22 June 2005 Page 2 Mac OS X Saving PDF or PS files When you set Image Shift with duplex settings, save the file as a PDF or PS, and then print the file, the job prints single-sided without the Image Shift settings. If you print the settings with the driver without saving the file as PS or PDF, the job prints with the correct settings. Spooler (Mac OS 9) Production Printing Package options The Production Printing Package features are not supported in Spooler. However, some of the features appear as available in Spooler, whether or not the Production Printing Package is installed. Some of these features are as follows: · Edit>Process Next · Job Properties>Output Option Tab>Schedule Printing Scanning Using the Direction setting The [ORIG. DIRECTION] and [BINDING] settings on the copier LCD panel are not supported for the scan job. Command WorkStation Printing merged jobs When jobs with different numbers of copies are merged together, only one copy is printed. Merge jobs that have single or same number of copies. As a workaround, you can override the copy number for a single copy merged job from Job Properties of Command WorkStation. Other Applications Microsoft Word 2000 for Windows 2000/XP The printed border is different from what is displayed in the preview. PageMaker 6.5 for Mac OS 9 The color of a printed object does not match the preview. This is because of PICT conversion, which is usually a bitmap. This conversion, which occurs automatically as PageMaker is opening the file, happens because the PageMaker file was created in the Windows version of PageMaker, and then later opened in the Mac version of PageMaker. Page 3 Mixed Media Job Log Patches Toggle switch for Job Log reporting The Mixed Media Job Log Toggle patches are located in the Mixed Media Job Log Patches folder on the Windows User Software CD. The patch provides a toggle switch for Job Log reporting. When the switch is enabled or turned on, the Job Log reports a job as separated jobs, according to the media contained within the job. When the switch is disabled or turned off, the Job Log reports the job as one job, regardless of the different media contained in the job. For information about downloading files, see Utilities. INSTALLING THE MIXED MEDIA JOB LOG PATCHES 1 Open the Mixed Media Job Log Patches folder on the User Software CD. 2 Download these patches to the Print queue: · 1-EWFDF-MixedMediaJobLogOn.ps · 1-EWFDF-MixedMediaJobLogOff.ps The default toggle switch position is On. 3 Reboot the Fiery S300.
