ONLINE CUSTOMER ADMINISTRATION.................................................11/ Introduction DAEWOO provide DW-8000P Installation program for Windows 95/98/Me/2000 users to install DW-8000P easily and quickly. DW-8000P Installation program doesn't support Windows NT. If you use Windows NT, refer to the DW-8000P, ADSL PCI NIC User Manual. NOTE: You must run the DW-8000P Installation program before hardware installation (refer to DW-8000P ADSL PCI NIC User Manual). NOTE: You may need the Microsoft Windows Operating System installation files (CAB files) to complete the installation. The CAB files are contained in the Microsoft's OS CD-ROM. Some systems may have already installed the CAB files to the hard drive, but you should have the CD-ROM handy just in case. 2 Step1. Upgrade MSDUN, only for Windows 95 If you are Windows 95 user, you will need to upgrade your Dial-Up Networking (DUN) application to version 1.3 or above. The Microsoft DUN is conveniently contained on your ADSL Driver CD-ROM. Step2. Run DW-8000P Installation Program 1. 1. Insert the ADSL Driver CD, the DW8000P Installation program will automatically run. Then Click [Cancel] At your desktop, click [Start], and then select "Run". Insert DW-8000P installation CD in your CD-ROM drive. Then DW-8000P Installation program will start automatically. Welcome window will appear. Click [Next] 2. 2. NOTE: If DW-8000P Installation program doesn't start automatically, run the "DW8000P.exe" file manually. 3. The Run window appears. Then click on [Browse] and proceed to locate the ADSL Driver CD-ROM. Then locate and select the Msdun13.exe file (F:\Support\MSDUN13\English\ MSDUN13.exe). The MSDUN13.exe appears in the Open box. Click [OK]. NOTE: The example uses "F" as the CD-ROM drive letter. Drive letters may vary. 3. System Check - Step1 window will appear. It shows your system's OS, Language, and Memory check results. If the result is "OK!", click [Next >]. 4. 5. 4. The Microsoft Dial-Up Networking 1.3 window appears with the message "This will install Microsoft Dial-Up Networking 1.3 for Windows 95. Do you wish to continue?" Click [Yes]. An End-User License Agreement will appear. To accept, click [Yes]. 6. 7. Finish ­ Step 2 window will appear. You can click [H/W Installation Tutorial], to see the H/W installation tutorial. Click [Finish]. 5. 8. 6. You will be asked: "Do you want to restart your computer now?" Click [Yes]. 9. DW-8000P Installation will ask you to shut down the system now. If your system OS is not Windows 95 or MSDUN 1.3 upgraded already, click [Yes]. Your system will be shut down. 3 4 Step3. Install the ADSL Modem Card After running the DW-8000P Installation program, install the ADSL modem card on your PC's empty PCI slot. If you need detailed tutorial, refer to "Step3 ­ Install the ADSL Modem Card" in the "DW-8000P Installation Guide" or the H/W Installation Tutorial of the DW-8000P Installation program. Caution: To avoid possible damage to your modem card, touch the metal chassis of your PC system to remove static charge first, then remove your ADSL modem card from the protective anti-static bag. Step4. Install the Driver Windows 95 After running DW-8000P Installation program, insert DW-8000P ADSL Modem into the PCI slot and then turn the power on. 1. 2. The Add New Hardware Wizard window will automatically appear to indicate that a new PCI ATM Controller has been installed. The DW-8000P NIC ADSL Driver Settings window appears. This is the Advanced Settings section. Enter in the PVC_VPI, PVC_VCI, and ADSL Line Type values supplied by your ADSL service provider. (If you are TELUS customer, you don't need to change values. Just click [OK].) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Shut down your computer and switch the power off. Unplug the power cord for your computer from the electrical outlet. Remove the cover from your systems chassis (see your PC manufacturer's manual) Unscrew "slot cover bracket" from an unused PCI (usually white in color) slot. Gently and evenly insert the PCI modem card into your empty PCI slot. Make sure the card is firmly seated, then secure the card with the bracket screw. Replace the cover of your computer system. Connect the ADSL/phone line to the connector port (ADSL) on the modem card and plug the other end of the cable into your ADSL/phone service. You can connect a phone to the internally micro-filtered phone connector port (PHONE). 3. If prompted to insert your Windows CD, do so at this time, then click [OK]. Enter the [CD drive Letter] and :\Win95A\ENGLISH (e.g. D:\Win95A\ENGLISH), then click [OK]. 4. 5. The System Settings Change window appears. For the PC system to set up the DW-8000P PCI NIC ADSL Driver, a system Restart is required. Click [Yes]. 5 6 Windows 98, 98SE After running DW-8000P Installation program, insert DW-8000P ADSL Modem into the PCI slot, then turn the power on. Windows Me After running DW-8000P Installation program, insert DW-8000P ADSL Modem into the PCI slot and then turn the power on. 1. 2. The DHCP Client window will appear to indicate "DHCP Client was unable to obtain an IP network address from a DHCP server. Do you want to see future DHCP messages?" Click [Yes]. The System Settings Change window appears. For the PC system to set up the DW-8000P PCI NIC ADSL Driver, a system restart is required. Click [Yes]. 4. Enter the [CD drive Letter] and then :\Win98 (e.g. F:\Win98) and click [OK]. 4. 5. The System Settings Change window appears. For the PC system to set up the DW-8000P PCI NIC ADSL Driver, a system Restart is required. Click [Yes]. 7 8 Windows 2000 After installing the ADSL modem card, plug the power cable back into the PC system and turn the power on. Step5. Renew the IP Configuration Static IP service users and Windows 2000 users can skip this step. 1. 1. After installing the ADSL modem card, power on the PC system. After start-up, the Digital Signature Not Found will appear. Click [Yes]. 2. After your PC has rebooted, right-click on the DSL Monitor Icon, and select the "DAEWOO DSL Monitor..." option (or you can double-click the icon). The DAEWOO DSL Monitor window appears. And, you can see [Ipconfig Renew] on the left bottom of the window. 2. The DW-8000P NIC ADSL Driver Settings window appears. This is the Advanced Settings section, and Enter in the PVC_VPI, PVC_VCI, and ADSL Line Type values supplied by your ADSL service provider. (If you are TELUS customer, you don't need to change values. Just click [OK].) 3. Click the [Ipconfig Renew] and then you can see the current IP configuration. Before OCA registration, the IP might be "10.7.x.x" (x.x being a unique number). If the modem already registered then the IP might be "216.232.x.x". 9 10 Step6. Online Customer Administration After connecting your computer to the ADSL service for the first time, you will need to register your PC and to renew the IP configuration of your PC. 1. 2. Open up your Internet browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer). In the Address bar (Internet Explorer) or Netsite bar (Netscape Communicator) type: For BC customers: http://oca.bc.hsia.telus.net MEMO For Alberta customers: http://oca.ab.hsia.telus.net 3. The Online Customer Administration web page will appear. Enter your User ID and password. 4. 5. 6. 7. Click the login now button. Click "One Step Registration Of Your PC" to register MAC address of your ADSL modem. Click the logout button. Renew your PC's IP configuration. Refer to the Step3. Renew the IP Configuration. The IP Address should contain a valid IP address. (e.g. 216.232.x.x) (x.x being a unique number) Open your Internet browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape). 8. Congratulations! You can now enjoy your telus.net High Speed QuickConnect Internet Access. NOTE: If you have static IP's, your settings may differ. 11 12
