About

7.2
The

information
about
additions
and
changes
made
to
Logic
Pro
7.2
after
the
New
Features
in
Logic
Pro
7.2
document
was
completed.
This
information
supplements
the
information

and
the

manuals.
Logic
and
Intel
or
PowerPC
Macintosh
Systems
Logic
Pro
7.2
is
designed
to
run
natively
on
both
PowerPC
and
Intel-based
Macintosh
systems.
This
impacts
in
the
following
ways: Â For
technical
reasons,
all
song
conversions
between
Logic
PPC
and
Logic
Intel
will
remove
the
Undo
history. Â Songs
saved
in
Logic
7.2
PPC
can
be
opened
with
any
Logic
release
between
7.0
and
7.1.1,
ensuring
that
PPC
Logic
7.2
songs
remain
compatible
with
earlier
Logic
Pro
7
versions
and
vice
versa. Â Songs
saved
in
Logic
7.2
PPC
can
be
opened
with
Logic
7.2
Intel
(and
Logic
7.2
PPC). Â Songs
saved
in
Logic
7.2
Intel
can
be
opened
with
Logic
7.2
PPC
(and
Logic
7.2
Intel). Â Songs
saved
in
Logic
7.2
Intel
can
not
be
opened
with
earlier
versions
of
Logic
(Logic
7.1.x
or
earlier).
This
means
that
Logic
7.2
Intel
songs
are
only
upwards
compatible
(Logic
7.2
Intel
can
open
older
songs
but
not
vice
versa).
Note:
Should
you
wish
to
make
Logic
7.2
Intel
songs
compatible
with
Logic
7.1.x,
simply
open
the
song
in
Logic
7.2
PPC
and
save
it.
Integrated

the
new
Ensemble

interface
from
Apogee
Electronics,
allowing
you
to
configure
such
equipment
directly
in
Logic.

Changes
The
Korg
microKONTROL
and
KONTROL49
foot
pedal
is
now
used
to
control
master
volume
(as
per
the
Logic
Control).
The
KONTROL49
Foot
Switch
now
triggers
the
"Play
or
Stop"
key
command.

Select
Similar/Equal
Behavior
Changes
in
Arrange
The
implementation
of
the
Select
"Similar"
or
"Equal"
Regions/Events
menu
items
in
the
Arrange
has
been
simplified
and
enhanced
in
Logic
Pro
7.2.
This
applies
to
the
following
menu
entries: Â Select
Similar
Regions/Events  Select
Equal
Regions/Events Note:
At
least
one
Region
must
be
selected
before
either
of
these
menu
items
can
be
accessed. The
Select
Equal
Channels
menu
entry
can
no
longer
be
accessed
in
the
Arrange
window.
This
is
because
all
Regions
have
the
same
"MIDI
channel"
(or,
more
accurately,
the
MIDI
channel
doesn't
apply
to
Region
events),
resulting
in
"Select
Equal
Channels"
behaving
identically
to
"Select
Similar"
when
applied
to
Regions.
This
makes
the
"channel"
menu
item
superfluous,
so
it
is
no
longer
accessible. Select
Similar
will
select
the
same
Region
type--either
Audio
or
MIDI--independent
of
position.
There
is
no
further
distinction
criteria
as
for
control
change
events
(controller
number),
note
events
(note
name,
octave)
or
Environment
Objects
(Object
type). Select
Equal
selects
MIDI
Regions
with
exactly
the
same
content
and
size.
For
audio,
all
Regions
of
the
same
length
and
position
(of
the
same
audio
file)
are
selected
as
"equal" .
Movie
Window
Changes
Right-clicking
the
movie
window
now
opens
the
movie
window
shortcut
menu
(earlier
versions
required
a
click-hold
on
the
Movie
window
to
access
the
shortcut
menu).
Automating
the
Bypass
Status
of
Audio
Instrument
Insert
Slots
The
following
information
supplements
the
Automating
the
Bypass
Status
section
of
the
New
Features
in
Logic

document.
Sending
a
value
of
64--with
controller
56--to
Audio
Instrument
channels
toggles
the
bypass
status
of
the
Instrument
slot
(rather
than
the
first
Insert
slot,
as
is
the
case
with
other
types
of
audio
channels).
This
difference
to
the
layout
of
Audio
Instrument
channels
necessitates
the
use
of
controller
57--again,
at
a
value
of
64--to
switch
the
bypass
status
of
the
first
Insert
slot.
Controller

sending
a
value
of

of

and
so
on,
with
ensuing

slots
on
Audio
Instrument
channel
strips.
Speech
Enhancer
Changes
The
Autoselect
option
has
been
added
to
the
Mic
model
menu.
If
this
option
is
selected
when
the
song
is
saved,
the
appropriate
computer
model
will
automatically
load
the
next
time
you
open
the
song.
