Model FR-2 owner's manual
This supplement describes the enhanced/new functionality of the FR-2 version 1.10 software. Before using the FR-2 version 1.10, please read this supplement along with the original and supplementary manuals.

When recording a digital audio signal, you now have to set the [Fs (kHz)] and [QUANTIZATION] switches appropriately.
With the FR-2 earlier version, when recording a digital audio signal, the FR-2 follows the FS information of the digital audio signal and you do not need to set the [Fs (kHz)] and [QUANTIZATION] switches (see page 55 of the owner's manual). With the FR-2 version 1.10, regardless of whether the digital audio signal contains the FS information or not, you have to set the [Fs (kHz)] and [QUANTIZATION] switches to match the digital signal. Make sure of this before you record a digital audio signal.

You can now protect a memory card mounted on the FR-2 in the USB mode.
Using the newly added "Disk Protect" menu item, you can select whether or not protecting a memory card mounted on the FR-2 when transferring audio files between the FR-2 and a PC via USB connection. In other words, this menu item selects whether a PC can read/write data from/to a memory card or a PC can only read data. This menu item is set to "On" by default, therefore, you can transfer audio data from the memory card to a PC but cannot transfer data from the PC to the card. This protects audio data in the memory card mounted on the FR-2 from being destroyed by inappropriate PC operation. While the "Disk Protect" menu item is set to "On" (default), if you connect the FR-2 to a PC and execute the "USB Device Mode" menu item in the "USB Mode" menu of the MENU mode, "" is shown on the screen which shows USB connection condition. In other words, when "" is shown on this screen, the disk protection is enabled and the memory card is "Read only".
