Manual abstract: user guide FOSTEX FR-2LE - OWNERS MANUAL VERSION V1.20 SUPPLEMENT

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

FR-2LE V1.20 supplementary manual With the software upgrade of the FR-2LE to V1.20, the following changes have been made. Note that this document only describes the functions upgraded with version 1.20. (1) You can now format a disk with "mono" MP3 mode. You can set the "Track Mode" item in the Format menu item of the Disk menu to "STEREO" or "MONO" when you select the FS/BIT Mode to MP3. See also the FR-2LE V1.10 supplementary manual for the detail about the track mode. : The MP3 bit rate depends on the track mode (stereo or mono). When you set the "Track Mode" item to "MONO", the MP3 bit rate is automatically set to 96 kbps. When you set this item to "STEREO", the MP3 bit rate is automatically set to 192 kbps (see the screen examples below). CAUTION When you loudly play back an audio file recorded in the MP3 (192 or 96 kbps) format in a quiet place, you may hear modulated background noise. This is the MP3 specific modulated noise which depends on the recording level and the frequency spectrum of background noise. If you have a problem with this modulated noise, it is recommended to set the FS/BIT Mode to BWF mode instead of MP3 mode. (2) The sample word of recording time which is derived from the internal RTC (realtime clock) is now recorded as the time reference of a BWF file. Therefore, if you record a BWF file using the FR-2LE and play it back by a system which can display the BWF time, you can see the time information (24H RUN) of the file. © PRINTED IN CHINA FEB. 2008 8588 102 000 (478437) ...
