HL10 Quick Reference Guide HL10 Handset Lifter The HL10 handset lifter can be used with the CA40 DECT adapter and the A22 Amplifier to provide automatic control of the telephone hookswitch when a user receives a call. HL10 replaces HL1 & HL2 lifters. When CA40 or A22 is used with the lifter unit, the user is alerted to an incoming call by two methods: 1. Audible tone in the headset 2. Ringing tone from the remote pack (CA40) or from the telephone (A22) A small microphone is integrated within the unit which picks up the ringing sound. A notification signal is transmitted to the remote pack (CA40) and the headset (CA40 & A22). When this occurs, pressing the activation button on the remote pack or the handset/headset button on A22 takes the phone off hook and the call can be taken through the headset. On completion of the call, the same button is pressed again to return the handset to the onhook state. If the user has chosen to connect to an external audio device e.g. a PC CD player, he may listen to it through his headset. To do so he needs to make sure that the audio device is turned on and ensure that the A22 or CA40 is in handset mode.
