The Kanguru Wireless LAN Quick Start Guide 1 Install the WLAN Driver / Utility A. Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. The setup program will start automatically. Installation of the Kanguru Wireless LAN is dependent on the operating system. Please follow the instructions carefully to make sure you are taking the appropriate steps for your operating system. Windows 98 SE users must first install the Flash Driver (Steps 1 to 3 below). All other users do not need to install the Flash Driver. B. Click Next to begin the setup. Install the Flash Driver (Windows 98 SE Only) Step 1: Plug-in the Kanguru WLAN first and choose Search for the best driver for your device when the wizard begins, then click Next. Step 2: Uncheck the box CDROM drive and check the box Specify a location. Choose E:\KanguruWireless LAN\Flash Driver, where E is your CD-ROM drive letter. Click Next to continue. Step 3: The wizard will find the location of the driver to be: E:\KanguruWirelessLAN \FLASHD~5\USTORAGE.INF Click Next then Finish to complete the Flash Driver installation. C. Select the destination folder. To install to the default folder as shown on the right, click Next to continue. The Kanguru Wireless LAN Quick Start Guide 2 Configure the Kanguru WLAN Network Settings D. During the installation, drivers and utility files will be copied to your system directory. G. Windows 98 SE / NT / ME / 2000 users will see a WLAN Manager shortcut icon on the desktop. Click on this icon to run the configuration utility. E. Click Finish to complete the installation. Unless you are running Windows 98 SE / ME you will not need to restart. Connect the Kanguru WLAN to Your PC F. Connect the Kanguru WLAN to the USB port on your computer. There is no need for an external power supply. The Kanguru WLAN will get its power from the PC's USB port. Use the supplied hanger for optimal signal range and performance. H. (Windows XP Only) Windows XP uses the built-in Wireless Zero Configuration Utility. To run the utility, click on the Wireless Network Connection icon in the System Tray. *Please refer to the User Manual for detailed configuration settings.
