NT-P600S Quick Start Guide Knowing Your Easy Phone STEP 1 Install the Skype Software Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet before starting installation. Used for the hold and call waiting functions 1. Numeral pad Install the Skype software Install the SkyMagic software Connect the phone to your PC Insert the SkyMagic CD into your CD-ROM drive. In the SkyMagic window, click Install Skype Software to open the Skype Web page, www.skype.com. Download the Skype software from the Web site. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Skype software on your computer. If you already have a Skype account, sign in and proceed to Step 2. Create a New Skype Account 1. 2. Run Skype and click on Don't have a Skype Name? to open the Create Account window. Choose your Skype name and password. Enter the required information (denoted by a red asterisk) and click Sign In. You must have a microphone and speaker connected to computer to make the test call. Make a Skype Test Call 1. 2. Select Skype Test Call in the Contacts tab. Click the green call button. Follow the voice instructions to test Skype. RING Select your desired ring tone STEP 2 Install the SkyMagic Software Clear Clears wrong numbers you may have entered when dialing a call 1. 2. 3. Insert SkyMagic CD into the CD-ROM drive. On the SkyMagic screen, Click on Install SkyMagic software. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Skype software on your computer. When the following screen comes up, select Allow this program to use Skype and click OK. End Ends a call or refuses an incoming call MUTE Used to mute and un-mute a call while talking 4. STEP 2 (continued) 5. If these icons are shown in your computer's system tray, the SkyMagic installation has been completed successfully. 1. Assign a Speed Dial Number Assign Speed Dial Numbers to Your Contacts Right-click on a contact under the Contacts tab and select Set Speed Dial. Using the Phone (continued) Make a Skype Call Using Speed Dial Enter the speed dial number of the contact who you want to call (e.g. 10) and press the Dial key to make the call. Make a SkypeOut Call SkypeOut is a low-cost way to make calls to any phone number in the world using Skype. To use this service, you have to buy SkypeOut credit from www.skype.com. STEP 3 Connect the Phone to Your PC 1. 2. Plug the phone into an open USB port on your PC. Windows detects the phone as new hardware devices and installs the necessary drivers automatically. 1. Press the + key followed by the phone number. The phone number must be entered strictly in the following format: "Country code" + "Area Code" + "Phone Number" 2. Assign a speed dial number to the contact (e.g. 10). The number can be any integer from 1 to 99. For example, if you want to make a call to your friend in Edinburgh, United Kingdom and his phone number is 1234567890, you enter + 44 1234567890 2. Press the Dial key to send the call. If you accidentally enter a wrong number while dialing, press the Cancel key to delete the numbers you have input. 3. Repeat for each contact for which you want to assign a speed dial number. Regardless of where you are and the number you want to call, you have to follow this dialing format to make a SkypeOut call. Answer a Skype Call When the phone rings, press the Dial key to answer or the End key to refuse the call. Windows may skip this step if the drivers have been previous installed on your PC. 3. When the SkyMagic icon becomes a green phone against a light green background, the phone is successfully connected and is ready to use. Using the Phone Calling with Your Phone Mute a Call Press the MUTE key to mute a call while talking. To unmute the call, press the same key once again. Hold a Call Press the Dial key to put a call on hold while talking. Press the same button again to un-hold the call. Call Waiting Press the Dial key to take an incoming call while you are already talking on a current call. To switch back to the original call, press the Dial key, then the Skype tabs key, then the Dial key again. Select Your Ring Tone Press the RING key to scroll through your ring tones until you find your favorite one. Adding a Skype Contact Add Skype Users to Your Contact List 1. 2. Open the Skype window. Click the Add Contact button and follow the onscreen instructions to add a contact. Make a Skype Call from Your Contact List 1. Press the Dial key to bring up the Skype window. Press Skype tabs until you display your Contacts tab. 2. Press the Scroll keys to select a contact. 3. Press the Dial key to make the call. Make a Skype Call from Your Call History 1. Press the Dial key to bring up the Skype window. Press Skype tabs until you display your History tab. 2. Press the Scroll keys to select an entry. 3. Press the Dial key to make the call.
