R6640 BASIC RECORDING 1 2 3 Quick Reference Basic Recording Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control or front panel to open the disc tray. Insert a DVD+R or DVD+RW into the disc tray with the label side facing up. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the disc tray. 4 5 6 Press the INPUT button repeatedly to select the input source from which you want to record: F-A/V: Device connected to the front audio/video input. R-A/V: Device connected to the rear audio/video input. F-SV: Device connected to the front S-Video input. R-SV: Device connected to the rear S-Video input. F-DV: Device connected to the front DV input. CH###: Antenna/Cable TV Input. · Select the desired TV channel using the UP/DOWN, CH Y/B, or 0-9 buttons. Press ENTER to confirm your selection. Press the DISPLAY button to access the control bar: Finalizing DVD+R Discs DVD+RW discs are compatible with most other DVD players. However, if you want your DVD+R discs to be compatible with other DVD players, you MUST finalize them: 1 Insert your DVD+R disc. 2 Press DISC OP. on the remote control. 3 Use the RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to select "FINAL", then press ENTER. · Disc finalization may take a few minutes to complete. · Once you have finalized a DVD+R, you cannot record anything else on the disc. · You can erase and rerecord a DVD+RW by choosing "ERASE" from the menu. 8 9 Use the RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to highlight the "Record Quality" icon and press ENTER. Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to select the desired record quality, then press ENTER: 10 Press RECORD to start recording. · To stop recording, press STOP. · To pause recording, press PAUSE. · To add recording time in 30-minute increments, press RECORD repeatedly. · After recording has stopped, press MENU to view an Index of all titles (recordings) on the disc. · To watch your recordings, use the ARROW keys to highlight the desired title and press PLAY.
