CONTACT: Celestron Technical Support: 310.803.5955 Item# 21039 Quick Set-up Guide 2 3 1 Your PowerSeeker 50 includes: optical tube w/ lens shade attached; tripod with center support bracket; three eyepieces; a 3x barlow lens, star diagonal, finderscope with bracket; The SkyTM CD software; documentation including owner's manual. To set up the tripod, spread the legs outward until they are fully extended. Extend the center portion of each of the three tripod legs down 68". Use the three tightening snaps located at the bottom of each leg to secure the extended legs in place. 4 5 6 All three legs should be the same length to provide a level platform for the telescope. Remove the threaded bolt from the underside of the telescope tube. Line up hole in mount with the hole on the underside of the optical tube as shown above. 7 8 9 Replace threaded bolt to secure the optical tube to the mount. Attach the nut to the threaded bolt by turning clockwise and tighten. Make sure nut falls into recess. Properly assembled, optical tube should appear as pictured above. Remove knurled finderscope nuts from the optical tube. Quick Set-up Guide [cont] 10 11 12 Orient finderscope so that it is facing toward the front of the tube. Place finderscope over screws as shown above. Replace knurled nuts to secure in place and remove lens covers. Loosen the set screw on the focuser and remove the plastic cap. 13 14 15 Insert the diagonal into the focuser and tighten the set screw to secure in place. Remove the plastic cap on the diagonal. Place the 20mm eyepiece into the barrel of the diagonal as shown above. Tighten the set screw to secure in place. Before you begin observing, remove the optical tube cover. 16 17 18 To observe, look through the telescope as shown above. For additional magnification, you can use the included 3x barlow. Place the barlow in the diagonal in place of the eypiece and tighten set screw -- remove the cap from the barlow. Insert the chrome barrel of the 20mm eyepiece into the barlow and tighten the set screw to secure in place. For detailed usage information please consult your owner's manual. ...
