Load languages on your handheld Use the Application Loader tool to load languages onto your handheld. You can load more than one language onto your handheld at a time. Note: English is always loaded on your handheld. 1. Connect your handheld to your computer. 2. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. 3. Double-click the Application Loader icon. The Application Loader Wizard window appears. 4. Click Next. The Handheld Application Selection window appears. 5. In the Application Name section, select the check box beside the language that you want to load onto your handheld. 6. Click Next. The Summary screen appears. 7. Click Finish. Select a language on your handheld After you load one or more languages onto your handheld, you can change the language in which your handheld operates. 1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears. 2. Click Localization. The Localization screen appears. 3. In the Locale field, press the Space key until the preferred language appears. 4. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears. 5. Click Save. The handheld operates in the language that you selected. Set the date and time You can change the time zone and the date and time format on your handheld. Note: If you change the time zone, your handheld adjusts the time automatically. 1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears. 2. Click Date/Time. The Date/Time screen appears. 3. In the following fields, press the Space key until the preferred option appears: Field Description Time Zone Time Time Format Date Set your time zone. Set the current time. Select a 12-hour or 24-hour clock. Set the current date. 3 Language Quick Reference Field Description Auto Time Set Network Date Network Time Set whether your handheld time is updated automatically based on the selected time zone. This field displays the current date on the wireless network. This field displays the current time on the wireless network. 4. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears. 5. Click Save. The options are saved. Tip: To copy the current date and time from the wireless network to your handheld, on the Date/Time screen, click the trackwheel. A menu appears. Click Copy Network Time. Type with accents To type accented characters, hold a letter key and roll the trackwheel to scroll through the accents and symbols that are associated with that character. Release the letter key to insert the character. Use AutoText The AutoText function automatically replaces text that you type with programmed text. A set of default AutoText entries is provided for each language. You can add AutoText entries to the set for all languages or assign your entry to a particular language. Create an AutoText entry 1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears. 2. Click AutoText. The AutoText screen appears. 3. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears. 4. Click New. The AutoText: New screen appears. 5. In the following fields, type AutoText information: Field Description Replace With Type a word or a combination of letters. Type the text that replaces the word. To insert a macro (for example, the current date), click the trackwheel. A menu appears. Click Insert Macro. The Insert macro dialog box appears. Click a macro. 6. In the following fields, press the Space key until the preferred option appears: Field Description Default Using Select one of the following options: Specified Case: The capitalization of the AutoText entry appears exactly as you typed it. SmartCase: The capitalization of the AutoText entry changes depending on the context in which it is used. Set whether the AutoText entry is available in all languages that are on your handheld or in a specific language only. SmartCase Locale current display language 7. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears. 8. Click Save. Utilisation de la fonction Insertion automatique La fonction Insertion automatique remplace automatiquement le texte tapé par un texte programmé. Un jeu d'insertions automatiques par défaut est fourni pour chaque langue. Vous pouvez ajouter des insertions automatiques à la liste par défaut de toutes les langues ou d'une langue spécifique. Haga clic en Copiar hora de la red. Escritura con acentos Para introducir caracteres acentuados, mantenga pulsada una tecla de letra y gire la rueda de desplazamiento para desplazarse por los acentos y símbolos asignados a cada carácter. Suelte la tecla de letra para introducir el carácter que desee. Uso de la función Texto automático La función Texto automático sustituye de forma automática texto introducido por el texto que se haya programado. Con cada idioma se incluye un conjunto predeterminado de entradas de texto automático. Puede agregar entradas de texto automático al conjunto de idiomas o asignar la entrada a un idioma determinado. Creación de una entrada de texto automático 1. En la pantalla de inicio, haga clic en el icono Opciones. Aparecerá la pantalla correspondiente. 2. Seleccione Texto automático. Aparecerá la pantalla correspondiente. 3. Haga clic con la rueda de desplazamiento. Aparecerá un menú. 4. Haga clic en Nuevo. Aparecerá la pantalla Texto automático: Nuevo. 5. En los campos siguientes, introduzca la información de texto automático: Campo Descripción Reemplazar Con Introduzca una palabra o una combinación de letras. Introduzca el texto que reemplace la palabra. Para insertar una macro (por ejemplo, la fecha actual), haga clic con la rueda de desplazamiento. Aparecerá un menú. Haga clic en Insertar macro. SmartCase: Las entradas de texto automático aparecerán en mayúscula o minúscula en función del contexto en el que aparezcan. Defina si la entrada de texto automático se encuentra disponible en todos los idiomas que incluye el dispositivo de bolsillo o sólo en un idioma específico.
