Press the navigation key to the right. } i-modeTM i-modeTM is a Web based service providing fast and easy access to sites that are tailored for viewing in your phone. One press on the i-mode key and you have access to a rich i-mode experience, with games, news, music and a lot more. You can use the i-mode key to browse i-mode and standard Web pages. All settings required are pre-installed in your phone so you should be able to start experiencing i-mode as soon as you have inserted your SIM card (as long as you have coverage). However, should you have problems connecting to the Internet, please contact your network operator. Accessing the Internet With your phone you have access to the Internet wherever you are as long as you have coverage. The following symbols tell you if you have coverage: GPRS network is within range and can be used. Tells you the strength of the GSM network signal. 2 January 2007 Getting started Internet and i-mode i-modeTM menu You access the Internet using the i-mode menu. The i-mode menu contains the following: · · · · · · i-Menu ­ all the official i-mode sites grouped into categories. Bookmarks ­ quick links to your favourite Web pages. Saved pages ­ your Web pages that are saved in the phone memory. Enter Web addr. ­ option to enter any page by typing the Internet address. Last Web addr. ­ shortcut to the last visited Web page. Settings ­ browser-related settings. To use the i-mode menu Press . Browsing Using i-mode you can browse i-mode pages as well as other Web pages. To start browsing i-mode pages Press and select i-Menu to go online. To start browsing any Web page 1. Press and select Enter address. 2. Type the Web address of the page that you want to view } Go to. Bookmarks Bookmarks is a convenient way of handling Internet addresses. Use bookmarks as quick links to your favourite Web pages. To add a new bookmark 1. 2. 3. 4. Press and select Bookmarks } New bookmark. In the Title: field enter a name for the bookmark } OK. In the Address: field enter the address for your new bookmark } OK. } Save. You can also add the Web page you are currently viewing to your list of bookmarks. } More } Tools } Add bookmark. 3 January 2007 Getting started Internet and i-mode Saving a Web page You can save Web pages in the phone memory. Saved Web pages are viewed offline, so you will not be connected until you choose a link. To save a Web page When browsing } More } Tools } Save page. Internet browser options With the browser open } More to view a list of browsing options. The options may vary depending on the site you are visiting. · } Go to to select from the following options: · i-Menu ­ to go to the i-mode portal, where all official i-mode sites are grouped into categories. · Bookmarks ­ access an existing bookmark or add the current Web page to the list of bookmarks. · Enter address ­ enter the address of a Web page you want to visit. · History ­ list of previously visited Web pages. · Saved pages ­ list of your saved Web pages. · } Tools to select from the following options: · Add bookmark ­ add the current Web page to the list of bookmarks. · Save picture ­ save the picture from the Web page. · Save page ­ save the current Web page. · Send link ­ send a link to the current Web page to another phone. · Status ­ show connection information. · Make a call ­ make a call when browsing the Internet. } More } End call to end the call and continue browsing. · } Refresh page to reload the current content. · } Settings to select from the following options: · Show pictures ­ set on or off. · Show animations ­ set on or off. · Video auto play ­ set on or off. · Set timeout ­ set the time for the response timeout. · Send phone ID ­ select whether or not to always allow phone information to be sent. · } Exit browser ­ to disconnect and go to standby. 4 January 2007 Getting started Internet and i-mode Internet security and certificates Your phone supports secure browsing. Certain Internet services, such as banking, require certificates in your phone. Your phone may already contain certificates when you buy it or you can download new certificates. To check certificates in your phone } Settings } the General tab } Security } Certificates. Passwords and cache No passwords are saved and the cache is cleared between your browser sessions. Downloading You can download ringtones, themes, games and more from Web pages. To download content from a Web page When browsing, select a file to download and follow the instructions that appear. Download using direct links If supported by your network operator, you can use direct links for downloading content, except games and applications, to the File manager. To download a ringtone via Internet 1. 2. 3. 4. } File manager } Music } Ringtone. Select the link to the supplied Web page } Go to. The phone is now connecting. Follow the instructions on the Web page. After selecting phone signal } Download to download the ringtone. Information about the download is shown on the screen, for example, if you will be charged. You are notified if there is not enough memory to save the ringtone in the phone. To free memory you need to remove files from your phone. For memory status } File manager } More } Memory status. 5. When the download is completed } More } Exit browser. The downloaded ringtone is saved in } File manager } Music. 6. To use the downloaded ringtone, } File manager } Music. Select the link to the supplied Web page } Go to. The phone is now connecting. Follow the instructions on the Web page. After selecting a theme } Download to download the theme. Information about the download is shown on the screen, for example, if you will be charged. You are notified if there is not enough memory to save the theme in the phone. To free memory you need to remove files from your phone. For memory status } File manager } More } Memory status. 5. When the download is complete } More } Exit browser. The downloaded theme is saved in } File manager } Themes. To download a game or an application via Internet 1. Press and select Enter address. 2. Follow the instructions on the Web page. 3. After selecting a game or an application } Download to download the game or application. Information about the download is shown on the screen, for example, if you will be charged. You are notified if there is not enough memory to save the game or application in the phone. To free memory you need to remove files from your phone.
