Press the navigation key to the right. } Your phone has a browser that makes it possible for you to bring the Internet to your mobile phone. Before you start Make sure you have your 3G (UMTS)/GPRS or GSM network operator and/or service provider subscription information at hand before you start entering settings. To be able to access the Internet with your phone, you need: · a phone subscription that has data capability and a correctly set data account for access to an Internet server (for more information please contact your service provider). · Internet settings for your phone. These settings may already be entered when you buy the phone, or you can enter them manually. The easiest way though is to receive the settings from your service provider in a text message, or use the Phone setup for WAP at www.SonyEricsson.com/support. You may also have to register as an Internet and email user with your network operator or service provider. 3 June 2005 Getting started Using the Internet Internet account and settings The settings you need may already be entered when you buy the phone, or you can enter them yourself in three different ways: · Automatically by using the Sony Ericsson Phone setup for WAP (if supported by your service provider), % 4 Receive settings using the Phone setup for WAP. · Automatically by receiving them from your service provider, % 4 Receive settings from your service provider. · Manually by entering the settings in your phone, % 5 Enter settings manually. Please note that the Internet settings are different for different service providers. Receive settings using the Phone setup for WAP You will find the Sony Ericsson Phone setup for WAP at www.SonyEricsson.com/support. Select region and country or Global Support Area. Enter your phone model and choose WAP under Phone setup. To be able to receive the correct Internet settings, you need the following information from your service provider: · Country (the country you are in) · Name of service provider · Phone model Follow the instructions on the screen. You will receive the auto configuration via SMS. When you receive the text message, you simply } Yes to install your new settings. You are now ready to start using the Internet in your mobile phone. Receive settings from your service provider Check your service provider's Web site for information or contact their support desk and ask about automatic remote configuration of Internet. If remote configuration is possible, they will send you the auto configuration via SMS. When you receive the text message, you simply } Yes to install your new settings. 4 June 2005 Getting started Using the Internet Enter settings manually To be able to enter settings manually, you must have the relevant information, which you get from your service provider: Enter the settings in the phone 1. } Settings } the Connectivity tab } Internet settings } Internet profiles } New profile } Add. 2. } Name: } Add and enter a name for the profile } OK. 3. } Connect using: } New account } Add. 4. Select account type, PS data or CS data. 5. Enter a name for the account } Continue. 6. } Edit to enter the required information. After you enter each information item, } OK. 7. } Save. 8. Select the data account that you have just created } Save. 9. Select the profile that you have just created. Press and hold to return to standby. You are now ready to start using the Internet browser. Accessing the Internet With your phone you have access to the Internet wherever you are. You can access the Internet quickly and easily in several ways: · By selecting Internet services on the main menu, % 6 Using the Internet Services on the main menu. · By selecting the "Sony Ericsson" bookmark in Internet settings, % 6 Using the Sony Ericsson bookmark. · By entering a Web address in the browser, % 6 Entering a Web address from your phone. The icon appears in the status bar, at the top of the screen, when the 3G (UMTS) network is available. 5 June 2005 Getting started Using the Internet Using the Internet Services on the main menu Select Internet services on the main menu. This is a pre-loaded Web page stored in the phone. Here you can access online services that are designed to support and to optimize using your phone. For example: · Search Engine: Direct access to www.google.com. Google services provide the opportunity to search Internet sites. · Picture Gallery: Go to the Sony Ericsson Picture Gallery where a registered user can upload and share images with others. It's also possible to get new images for your phone from the Sony Ericsson public gallery. · Video Gallery: Go to the Sony Ericsson Video Gallery to download video clips for your phone from the Sony Ericsson public gallery. · Settings: Settings and configurations, for example, MMS can be downloaded. Using the Sony Ericsson bookmark · You get direct access to Sony Ericsson "Fun and Downloads" at www.SonyEricsson.com/fun. } Internet services } More } Bookmarks } Sony Ericsson. Here you can download sounds, games, pictures, themes and MMS templates. Entering a Web address from your phone With your phone you have access to Internet wherever you are. Use Internet services to find information that you need at just that moment, or for entertainment. To enter a Web address 1. } Internet services. When the page is downloaded } More. 2. } Enter address } New address. 3. Write the address, for example www.SonyEricsson.com, } Go to. The phone now connects. 6 June 2005 Getting started Using the Internet Internet browser options With the browser open, } More to view a list of options to use when browsing. The options may vary depending on which site you are visiting. · Exit browser ­ disconnect and go to standby. · Bookmarks ­ add the site you are currently browsing to the list of bookmarks, or access one of the existing bookmarks. · Enter address ­ enter the Web page address of a site you want to visit. · History ­ list of previously visited sites. · Refresh page ­ refresh the contents of the Web page. · Save ­ save the Web page or save the picture from the Web page. · Send link ­ send a link to the current site to another phone. · Status ­ display current status, for example, profile, access type, security or address. · Appearance ­ customize the appearance of the current Web page. Select whether pictures should be displayed on the Web pages. Select whether sounds that are available on the Web page should be played. · Clear cache ­ clear all temporary stored Internet files saved in your phone. · Make a call/End call ­ if your subscription supports it, you can make a call while browsing the Internet by selecting Make a call. } End call to end the call and continue browsing. Changing homepage You can select an Internet page of your choice as homepage in your phone. When you have set a homepage, a direct link to this page will appear on the More menu in the browser. To set homepage 1. } Internet services } More } Bookmarks } New bookmark } Add. 2. } Title: } Add and enter a name for the homepage } OK. 3. } Address: } Add and enter the address for your new homepage } OK. 4. } Save. 5.
