Press the navigation key to the right. } With the speed of 3G (UMTS) you can keep in touch using voice and video. During the call, you see the person you are talking to on your screen and they can see you on theirs. Some phone keys and functionality may differ from the instructions in this document. Before you start Before you start making a video call you need: · a 3G (UMTS) phone subscription and a SIM card which supports 3G (UMTS). · to make sure that you are within coverage of a 3G (UMTS) network. The person you are calling must also have a 3G (UMTS) phone which supports video calling, and the conditions above apply to the person you are calling as well. 3G (UMTS) service is available when the 3G icon appears in the status bar. 2 June 2006 Getting started Video calls Making a video call There are several ways of making a video call: · · · · · from standby from contacts from the call list from a message from within the video call application. Answering and ending a video call To accept an incoming video call } Answer To end a video call } End call 3 June 2006 Getting started Video calls Zooming To zoom the outgoing video in or out From within the video call application, press zoom out. to zoom in the outgoing video and press to Sharing pictures during a call Share a picture with the person you are calling. Not all phones have this function. To share pictures during a call 1. Select the pictures tab 2. Scroll through the list with 3. } Share. with or . and select a picture Video call options Several functions are available to optimize your video call. From within the video call application } More and select from the following options: · Switch camera ­ to switch between the main camera and the video call camera. Use the main camera to show a fullscreen image of your surroundings to the recipient. · Stop camera/Start camera ­ turn the video camera on or off. An alternative picture is shown when the camera is off. · Save picture ­ save the image shown in the large view, for example, the incoming caller image. You can also use as a shortcut. · Camera ­ options · Brightness ­ adjust the level for the outgoing video image. Use or to decrease or increase the brightness. · Turn on night m. ­ use when lighting conditions are poor. This setting affects the outgoing video image. A half moon icon appear close to the outgoing video screen when the function is activated. · Sound ­ options during a video call. · Turn off speaker/Turn on speaker ­ turn off or on the incoming sound during a video call. You can also press and hold as a shortcut. · Mute microphone ­ to turn off the microphone during a video call. You can also press and hold as a shortcut. 4 June 2006 Getting started Video calls · Transfer sound ­ to have the incoming sound transferred to handsfree equipment via Bluetooth wireless technology. · Layout ­ options. · Switch pictures ­ to show incoming or outgoing video in full size view. · Hide small pic./Show small pic. ­ to hide or show the small picture. · Mirror image ­ to show the outgoing camera image. · Settings ­ options when answering. · Answer mode ­ set the video call camera to be on or off when answering a video call. Tip: If you answer with the video call camera turned off, you can easily turn it on by pressing twice. · Alternative pic. ­ set a picture to show to the recipient when the camera is off. · Audio options ­ select if microphone, speaker phone, or both should be on or off. · Video quality ­ select picture quality for video calls. Changes do not take effect during an ongoing call. Smooth for a better flow of images. Normal for standard viewing. Sharp for more detailed images.
