Special Notice to User (For Canada) In Canada NOTICE: The Industry Canada label identifies certified equipment. This certification means that the equipment meets telecommunications network protective, operational and safety requirements as prescribed in the appropriate Terminal Equipment Technical Requirements document(s). The Department does not guarantee the equipment will operate to the user's satisfaction. Before installing this equipment, users should ensure that it is permissible to be connected to the facilities of the local telecommunications company. The equipment must also be installed using an acceptable method of connection. The customer should be aware that compliance with the above conditions may not prevent degradation of service in some situations. Repairs to certified equipment should be coordinated by a representative designated by the supplier. Any repairs or alterations made by the user to this equipment, or equipment malfunctions, may give the telecommunications company cause to request the user to disconnect the equipment. Users should ensure for their own protection that the electrical ground connections of the power utility, telephone lines and internal metallic water pipe system, if present, are connected together. This precaution may be particularly important in rural areas. Caution: Users should not attempt to make such connections themselves, but should contact the appropriate electric inspection authority, or electrician, as appropriate. NOTICE: The Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) assigned to each terminal device provides an indication of the maximum number of terminals allowed to be connected to a telephone interface. The termination on an interface may consist of any combination of devices subject only to the requirement that the sum of the Ringer Equivalence Numbers of all the devices does not exceed 5. REN of this unit is 0.2.

FCC REQUIREMENTS: The Konica FK-101 complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. Prior to connecting this equipment to your telephone line you must, upon request, provide the following information to your telephone company: TELEPHONE NUMBER of the line to which you will connect the Konica FK-101, FCC REGISTRATION NUMBER of the Konica FK-101, and the RINGER EQUIVALENCE NUMBER (REN). A label on the cover of this equipment contains the FCC registration number and Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) for this equipment. The REN is used to determine the quantity of devices which may be connected to telephone line. Excessive RENs on the telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to incoming call. In most, but not all areas, the sum of RENs of all devices should not exceed five. To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to the line, as determined by the total REN, contact your local telephone company to determine the maximum REN for the calling area. CONNECTION: The Konica FK-101 connects to a telephone line by means of a standard USOC RJ11C jack. If this type of jack is not available where you want to install this equipment, you may order it from your telephone company. The Konica FK-101 is designed to be used on standard-device telephone lines. Connection to telephone to telephone company-provided coin service (central office implemented system) is prohibited. Connection to a party line service is subject to state tariffs. If you have any questions about your telephone line, such as how many pieces of equipment you can connect to it, the telephone company will provide this information upon request. RIGHTS OF THE TELEPHONE COMPANY: Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network, the telephone company may shall, where practicable, notify you that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. Where prior notice is not practicable and the circumstances warrant such action, the telephone company temporarily discontinue service immediately. In case of such temporary discontinuance, the telephone company must: (1) promptly notify you of such temporary discontinuance, (2) afford you the opportunity to correct the situation and (3) inform you of your right to bring a complaint to the Commission pursuant to procedures set forth in Subpart E of Part 68, FCC Rules. The telephone company may make changes in its communications facilities, equipment, operations, or procedures where such action is required in the operation of its business and is not inconsistent with FCC Rules and Regulations. If these changes are expected to affect the use or performance of your telephone equipment, the telephone company must give you adequate notice, in writing, to allow you to maintain uninterrupted service.
