This equipment uses certification jack USOC RJ11C.
A plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premises wiring and telephone network must comply with the applicable FCC Part 68 rules and requirements adopted by the ACTA. The REN is used to determine the number of devices that may be connected to a telephone line. Excessive RENs on a telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most but not all areas, the sum of RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the local telephone company. The REN for this equipment is part of the product identifier that has the format US:EDUFB03B13PW00. The digits represented by 03 are the REN without a decimal point (e.g., 03 is a REN of 0.3). For earlier products, the REN is separately shown on the label.
If Konica FL-102 causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. But if advance notice isn't practical, the telephone company will notify the customer as soon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary.
The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations or procedures that could affect the operation of the equipment. If this happens the telephone company will provide advance notice in order for you to make necessary modifications to maintain uninterrupted service.

If trouble is experienced with Konica FL-102, for repair or warranty information, please contact the Konica dealer location where you purchased this equipment. If the equipment is causing harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may request that you disconnect the equipment until the problem is resolved.
Connection to party line service is subject to state tariffs. Contact the state public utility commission, public service commission or corporation commission for information.
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 makes it unlawful for any person to use a computer or other electronic device, including FAX machines, to send any message unless such message clearly contains in a margin at the top or bottom of each transmitted page or on the first page of the transmission, the date and time it is sent and an identification of the business or other entity, or other individual sending the message and the telephone number of the sending machine or such business, other entity, or individual. (The telephone number provided may not be a 900 number or any other number for which charges exceed local or long-distance transmission charges.) What Can I Do with the Line Expansion Kit?
Using a line for both sending and receiving
You can speed up your broadcasting with this line expansion kit. You can use two lines to broadcast a document to various remote stations. You can also assign different telephone companies to each line or send or receive a fax during sending a fax.

You can specify Line 1 (standard line) and Line 2 (additional line) as either an extension line or an external line. You can default the setting and, when sending a fax, you can switch between the extension line and the external line by pressing the one-touch No.20 key.

Each line must be specified as either an extension line or an external (O/S) line. In addition, a line must be specified as the default line. Settings are made in FL-102 setting in Key Operator mode. If you send a document with two lines, you can speed up your transmission task. If you assign telephone companies to each line, you can poll or send the document by specifying a line or send or receive documents while sending another.

To set various FL-102 settings, open the FAX Key Operator Mode screen by pressing Key Ope Mode.

If there is a password required, the Key Operator password entry screen appears.
Enter the Key Operator password (4 digits) from the numeric key pad displayed and press OK.

Specifying lines as an extension line or external line
· Dialing method: · Num. of rings: PB * / Pulse Sets the dialing method for Line 2 (additional line). 0-15 (2 *) Sets the number of rings before the machine starts receiving a fax for Line 2 (additional line). Normal* / Ext or O/S Select Ext or O/S. Extension / O/S Line* Selects the way for Line 1 (standard line) to be used.

·Extension or O/S Line* Selects the default line is whether the extension line or the external line.

Sets a line for sending the PC-FAX. · PC-FAX Tx set: No select* / Line 1 / Line 2 Selects the line you want to specify. If Dual line use in Line parameter set is set to Ext or O/S: · PC-FAX Tx set: O/S Line* / Extension Selects either O/S Line or Extension. * Factory setting.

· No forward Tx The received document is not transferred. · Forward Tx + Print (always) The received document is transferred and printed by this machine as well. · Forward Tx + Print (error) The received document is transferred. If the transfer failed, the document is printed by this machine.

When PC-FAX Rx set is ON, Tx/Print will be No forward Tx/Forward Tx+PC (always)/ Forward Tx+PC (error).

Please aware of the following notes when you use the line expansion kit.
Broadcasting and polling
If you use Line 2 (additional line) for both sending and receiving, you can broadcast a document. A total of up to 300 destinations (200 abbreviated dial numbers and 100 destinations from the key pad) can be specified. The sequential polling is performed when the machine polls the various destinations.
Connecting and receiving an external telephone
· You cannot connect an external telephone to Line 2 (additional line). · Off hook can be used only in Line 1 (standard line). · Auto Reception should be selected in Line 2 (additional line).
Memory Transmission
Memory Transmission is automatically selected in Line 2 (additional line). You cannot select Quick Memory Transmission. In Tx/Rx mode set in Key Operator Mode, the available Transmission mode is Memory Transmission only and Default cannot be selected. If you use Line 1 (standard line), you can select Quick Memory Transmission by clearing Memory Transmission in the FAX Application Menu screen.
Batch Transmission for Line 1
Select Line is added for the transmission conditions for Batch Transmission function. The batch transmission is performed if following conditions for transmissions are met.
Transmission conditions:
· Memory Tx, Resolution, Int'l com, ECM, V34, Select Line · Confiden. Tx, Relay Tx Req, Closed area Rx, Polling Tx, Forward Tx should not be set
Report/list
· FAX Setting List is printed for each line. · The line type (L1 or L2) is indicated at REMARKS in the report.
FAX image memory
FAX image memory should be 4MB or more if you use the line expansion kit.
