Internal buzzer is activated by applying 0V to Buzz Ctrl (Orange Wire) The ACTProX Range of Readers can read HID Clock & Data format, HID 26-Bit Wiegand format and the ACTSmart2 format. Wire both readers in parallel but connect D0 line of the exit reader into the SENSE line on the controller, leave the SENSE line on the Exit reader unconnected.
The standard wiring colours for ACTProX Proximity and Pin readers is shown above. Readers should be a maximum of 30m from the controller when powered from +5V and a maximum of 100m when powered from +12V.
Connect the SENSE line to the Controller if you require an Entry Reader. Leave the SENSE line unconnected for an Exit Reader or for operation with Wiegand Cards. The +5V reader supply on ACT controllers is normally rated at 1A for the ACT 2000 and ACT 3000 Controllers and rated at 100mA for the ACT1000. Typically this is sufficient to power 2 ACT readers; however if you are using two readers with the ACT 1000 controller we do recommend that you power the ACT Readers from 12v. Note however that readers from other manufacturers may need to be powered separately if their current requirements exceed this or if they require 12v. Readers must be placed a minimum of 1m from each other in order to maximise reading range.
