Acumen Pedometer I. MODELS AND FEATURES · 12 hr clock · Measure distance travel and steps · Stopwatch for exercise time · Selected Walk or Run mode · Average Speed (Optional) You can switch between each mode any time before, during and after your exercise without affecting the accuracy of Jogmate. B. Reset button Press only when you want to clear your results. This is referring to the results of the Steps, Stopwatch and Distance Mode. The stride length will not be affected. If you do not press the Reset button, the unit will show where you left off from the previous exercise period. C. Clock setting Pressing the Time button until the hour blinks. Adjust by pressing "+" or "-" button. Press Time button again for minute setting. Press Time button once more and the time is now locked in. You can display the time whenever you wish without affecting the recording of the unit. JogMate D. Distance settings (Optional) Turn to the back of the Jogmate, open the battery door. Remove the battery, you will see a blue switch, the indication is for distance setting in Km or Miles. Select the unit to your own choice as shown below. Battery Door E. Average speed (Optional) When you view the Average speed at the end of your exercise, the display shows the value in M/hr or KM/hr according to your Distance Settings. Stride Run Note: Each increment is 0.1 ft (0.05m). (To determine your own stride: Measure out 25 feet, walk or run that distance with even strides. Count the no. Of steps you take and divide that number into 25 feet. For example: 25 feet divided by 10 steps is 2.5 or 2 feet 6 inches. Your input data should be 2'6'' for your stride.) III. CALCULATING YOUR STRIDE The preset values are 2ft (0.6m) for Walk mode and 3ft (0.9m) for Run Mode. These averages are taken from adult males. You may enter your own walk and run stride lengths as follow: Step 1: Press Walk/Run button to enter the stride settings for each mode. . Run II. BUTTONS & OPERATIONS A. Function button The Function button is used to switch different modes in JogMate: Time Stopwatch P/N: 81-967426-00 (clock) (indicated the elapsed time of your exercise) (indicated by Miles (M) or Kilometers (KM) (indicated the total steps you take during exercise) (indicated the average speed of your exercise) Blue Switch IV. BEGIN YOUR WALK OR RUN Jogmate begins in the Time Mode after power up. Press Start/Stop button once to go into the Stopwatch Mode, where it starts counting the elapsed time of the exercise and recording your distance. Press the Start/Stop button again to stop or restart. Distance Steps Note: Be careful to place the O-ring properly underneath the battery door to maintain its splash proof function. Acumen Inc. Average Speed Step 2 : After closing the desired mode, hold " " (Stride) button until the display is blinking adjust the stride length by using the"+" or "-" button: Finish by pressing the " " (Stride) button. Your stride is now locked in the unit. Press the Walk/Run button at any time to toggle between Walk and Run Mode. This selects either the walk or run stride length to be used in distance calculations. · Do not expose the unit to moisture or high humidity, this will reduce the battery life. IX. LIMITED WARRANTY This product is warranted by Acumen Inc. for one year from date of purchase (with the exception of batteries) against defects in workmanship and material. During that period, these defects will be repaired or the product will be replaced at Acumen Inc. option without charge. This warranty covers normal consumer usage and does not cover damage which occurs in shipment or failure which results from accident, misuse, abuse, tampering, alteration or disassembling of the product or improper maintenance. This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the USA and does not extend to any units which have been used in violation of written instructions furnished by Acumen Inc. or to units which have been altered or modified without authorization of Acumen Inc., or to damage to products or parts thereof which have had the serial number removed, altered, defected or rendered illegible. X. SERVICE & REPAIR Do not attempt to repair your product. Should the product malfunction, you should first call (703) 904-0405 between the hours of 9am5pm Eastern Time and ask for CONSUMER CUSTOMER SERVICE stating that you are a consumer with a problem. If the problem cannot be resolved, you will be asked to return the product to the factory for repair. Under no circumstances should you attempt to open housing and repair the product. Should you do this, your warranty will be voided. Securely package and return the product: PREPAID to: Acumen Inc., 101 A Executive Drive Suite 200 Sterling, VA 20166. USA. XI. TO RETURN FOR SERVICE Be sure to enclose: a. Your name, address and phone number. b. The date of purchase (or receipt as a gift) c. An explanation of the malfunction or reason for return. d. Seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) Check or Money Order payable to Acumen Inc. for return postage and handling. e. To insure prompt `In warranty' service, be sure to include proof of date of purchase. We recommend you take the necessary precaution of insuring the parcel. VII. CHANGING THE BATTERY Use a coin to open the battery cover. Remove the cover and replace the battery. When finish, turn the cover clockwise until it locks in place. You will need to reset your stride and the clock as these have been erased. Battery Type: Lithium CR 2032 Battery Life: Approximately 1.5 years V. SLEEP MODE (Optional) The unit will enter into Sleep Mode and stop the stopwatch automatically without step detecting after 5 minutes. Press any key will exit to the normal mode. VI. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Acumen JogMate is designed to wear close to the centre of your body as possible (just to the left or right of your belt buckle) In order to get the most accurate results, you must read and follow the instructions completely. · You may also walk on hard level surfaces such as road, track or walking path. · Beware of taking irregular strides and avoid sudden or sharp turns. . VIII. CARING FOR YOUR JOGMATE · Do not drop the unit. · Do not expose the unit to moisture or high humidity. · Do not expose the unit to high temperatures ...
