The interior of the oven becomes hot during use. · Using ingredients containing alcohol in the oven may create an alcohol-air mixture that is easily ignited. In this case, open the door carefully. Do not have embers, sparks or naked flames in the vicinity when opening the door. 3 Information on acrylamides According to the latest scientific knowledge, intensive browning of food, especially in products containing starch, can constitute a health risk due to acrylamides. Therefore we recommend cooking at the lowest possible temperatures and not browning foods too much. 6 How to avoid damage to the appliance · Do not line the oven with aluminium foil and do not place baking trays, pots, etc. on the oven floor, as the heat that builds up will damage the oven enamel. · Fruit juices dripping from the baking tray will leave stains, which you will not be able to remove. For very moist cakes, use a deep tray. · Do not put any strain on the oven door when open. · Never pour water directly into the oven when it is hot. This could cause damage to or discoloration of the enamel. · Rough handling, especially around the edges of the front panel, can cause the glass to break. · Do not store any flammable materials inside the oven. These could ignite when the oven is switched on. · Do not store any moist foods inside the oven. This could damage the oven enamel. · After switching off the cooling fan, do not keep uncovered dishes in the oven. Moisture may condense in the oven interior or on the glass doors and may get into the units. 3 Note on enamel coating Changes in the colour of the oven's enamel coating as a result of use do not affect the appliance's suitability for normal and correct use. The catalytic effect of the filter limits odours to a great extent. If the smell filter is activated, it automatically switches itself on when a baking or roasting process is started. It switches itself off as soon as the baking or roasting cycle is finished. 3 14 Setting the clock 3 The time only has to be set if the appliance is disconnected from the power supply for a long time. 1. Initial cleaning 1 3 Clean the oven before using it for the first time. Important: Do not use caustic or abrasive cleaning agents! These can damage the oven surfaces. For the metal surfaces, use commercially available cleaning agents. 1. Open the oven door. The oven light is lit. 2. Remove all oven accessories, and clean them with warm water and a scouring agent. 3. Wash the oven in the same way, and wipe dry. 4. The sub-menus · Select the desired setting using the arrow buttons or or change to other sub-menus using the OK button. At the end of every menu there is the menu option BACK. You use this to go back to the higher menu. You can cancel a setting procedure by pressing and holding down the OPTION button. You will then find yourself back in the Oven functions menu. 3 17 Use of the oven functions The oven has the following functions: Oven function TRUE FAN Application For baking on up to three oven levels at the same time. Set the oven temperatures 20-40 °C lower than when using Conventional. For baking on one oven level dishes that require more intensive browning and a crispy base. When the oven is switched off, the fan continues to run to cool the appliance down, then switches itself off automatically. Heat indicator Heating Up indicator When the oven function has been switched on, the bars that slowly light up one after the other indicate how far the oven has heated up. Rapid Heat Up indicator When the RAPID HEAT UP function has been switched on, the bars that flash one after the other indicate that RAPID HEAT UP is operating. CONVENTIONAL 295ûcþ ýýý ýþ ýþ ý ý þüþ1ü3.2ü5 ý wm¸¹º»¼-P+P ý 00.0ú2 ýý ýý 21 Inserting the Combination Shelf, Baking Tray and Roasting Pan Inserting the baking tray or roasting pan Insert baking tray or or roasting pan on the telescopic runners of the selected oven level so that the two holes engage on the front retaining pins on the telescopic runners. Inserting the oven shelf: Insert the oven shelf so that the feet point downwards. Insert the oven shelf on the telescopic runners of the selected oven level. The high rim around the oven shelf is an additional device to prevent cookware from slipping. Inserting the oven shelf and roasting pan together: Lay the oven shelf on the roasting pan. Insert the oven shelf and the roasting pan on the telescopic runners of the selected oven level so that the two holes of the roasting pan engage on the front retaining pins on the telescopic runners. 3 3 To make it easier to insert the insertable component when runners are extended to different extents, lay the insertable component onto the runners at the back, push it in as far as the stop and then lower it onto the retaining pins at the front. 22 Synchronised oven shelf runners 3 1 To make it easier to pull out the oven shelf runners, the individual telescopic bars can be connected using a clamp. Fitting the synchronised oven shelf runners When fitting the retaining clips, ensure that the support brackets for the connecting clamp point towards the rear! To fit the left-hand and right-hand retaining clips, affix to the appropriate telescopic bars to ensure that the upper groove fits securely into the rear retaining pins. Push in retaining clips firmly until they engage. Insert the connecting clamp into the rear support brackets of the retaining clips on the left- and right-hand telescopic bars (1.). Press the connecting clamp into the locks of the two retaining clips by turning upwards simultaneously(2.). The telescopic bars can now be pulled out simultaneously. Removing the synchronised oven shelf runners To remove, follow the above steps in reverse. 23 Inserting/Removing the Fat Filter Only use the fat filter when roasting to protect the rear heating elements from fat splashes. Inserting the fat filter Hold the fat filter by the grip and insert the two mounts downwards into the opening on the rear wall of the oven (fan opening). Taking out the fat filter Hold the fat filter by the grip and unhook it. 24 Meat Probe 3 1 When the meat probe is plugged in, the OVEN FUNCTIONS menu offers a choice of suitable oven functions and additional programmes for the meat probe. Important: Only the meat probe supplied may be used. If replacing, please use only original replacement parts. Inserting the meat probe 1. Switch on the appliance using the ON/OFF 2. Push the tip of the meat probe into the meat as fully as possible, so that the tip is in the centre of the meat. 3. Insert the meat probe plug into the socket on the side wall of the oven as far as it will go. button. 25 Setting meat probe core temperature For switching off the oven when the temperature at the centre of a roast reaches the exact temperature set by you. There are two temperatures to consider: ­ The oven temperature: see Roasting Table ­ The core temperature: see Meat Probe Table 1. Insert meat probe as described before. Set the oven function and, if necessary, the oven temperature. Within a few minutes, a provisional end time is calculated, at which the core temperature set will be reached. This time is constantly recalculated and updated in the display. For the system to work, it is essential that the meat probe is in the meat and in the socket at the start of the cooking process and that it is not removed during the cooking process. During the calculation phase, the display for the time of day and meat's core temperature shows a "flashing square". As soon as the pre-set core temperature is reached, a signal sounds and the appliance switches itself off automatically. 26 4. Press any button to switch off the signal. Changing the core temperature at a later time: Press the SELECTION button repeatedly until the MEATPROBE function flashes and the core temperature set appears in the temperature display. Then change the temperature using the or button. Removing the meat probe 1 3 Warning: The meat probe is very hot. There is a risk of being burned when removing the plug and the tip of the meat probe. 1. Remove the meat probe's plug from the socket and take the meat out of the oven. 2. Switch off the appliance. You will find instructions on the meat programmes with meat probe in the chapter "Automatic programmes". 27 Automatic programmes In addition to the oven functions for individually setting baking and roasting, you have the option of working with various automatic programmes: 1. Meat programmes with weight input (OVEN FUNCTIONS menu) 2. Meat programmes with meat probe (OVEN FUNCTIONS menu) 3. Automatic recipes (Options menu) Meat programmes with weight input The meat programmes offer optimum settings for each type of meat. The roasting time is automatically determined by inputting the weight of the meat. ____________________ 1. In the clock functions display the length of the programme is displayed. The time counts down. This means while the programme is running the actual time remaining is displayed. ÒÓ ÒÓ 01.4ü0 3 If the suggested weight is not changed within approx. 5 seconds, the meat programme starts automatically. Within the first two minutes the weight can still be altered. To do this press the SELECTION button. The weight flashes and can be altered. 3.
