Directions Ltd Part I Introduction 4 1 1.1 Introduction Welcome Thank you for choosing Navigator 6. This software is designed to make your life easier, taking you door to door across most European countries. Navigator 6 supports two platforms: - Pocket Navigator 6 is designed for PDA's running Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5 or WindowsCE.NET 4.2. - PC Navigator is for computers running Windows 2000/XP (laptops, TabletPC, CarPC an so on) © 2006 ... Directions Ltd Part II Installing Navigator 6 for PDA 6 2 2.1 Installing Navigator 6 for PDA Overview Navigator 6 is available on several media. If you have purchased Navigator on an SD memory card then simply insert it into your PDA and follow the on-screen instructions. If you have a CD/DVD version then installation comes in two parts, program and map data. 2.1.1 Installing Navigator 6 The program can be installed in two ways, through Pocket Navigator Installer or by manually copying the cab file to your PDA. Once you have inserted the CD/DVD in your drive the Pocket Navigator Installer should auto run. If you are running the installer for the first time then you will be asked for your product key. Click the Install Application icon. © 2006 ... Directions Ltd 7 Navigator 6 Now select the destination of the cab file (Pocket PC install file). If your PDA is connected to the PC you can select a folder directly on the device, Install to your device. Alternatively, if you use a card reader to transfer files to your PDA then select the Prepare setup on local medium option. Click Next >> © 2006 ... Select a folder on your device or memory card where you want to copy the installation files. Use the Create directory button to create new folders. Click Install >> © 2006 ... Directions Ltd Installing Navigator 6 for PDA 10 Once the application installation is finished click Done. You will be taken back to the main menu. Here you select which maps you want to install. 2.1.2 Installing Maps You can add remove maps from your PDA using the Pocket Navigator Installer on you disc. © 2006 ... If your PDA is connected to the PC you can select a folder directly on the device, Install to your device. Languages marked with a red cross are not currently installed, those marked with a red tick are installed already. Click Next >> © 2006 ... Note that larger countries are also split into regions to make it possible to install on smaller memory cards (128Mb). Once you are happy with your selection click Update Data >> © 2006 ... If not run SETUP.EXE from the installation DVD and follow the on-screen instructions. © 2006 ... Directions Ltd Part IV 19 Navigator 6 4 Using Navigator 6 To start Navigator on your PDA, tap Start then Programs. Now tap on the Navigator 6 icon. Please note that operating your PDA while driving can be dangerous and we recommend that you prepare your journey in advance. Now you will be presented with an overview map of the region you have installed. Before you start navigating you must first set up your GPS. 4.1 Connecting your GPS receiver Tap the Menu button at the top of the map screen. You will see the following menu: © 2006 ...
