Manual abstract: user guide ALCHEMIST AT1

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

ALCHEMIST A T 1 AM/FM Tuner INSTRUCTION MANUAL POSITIONING The AT1 AM/FM Tuner, for best results, should be mounted on a solid flat surface. At all times this surface should be level. The AT1 should also be placed in a position free from direct sunlight, dust, heat and any source of humidity. MAINS POWER CONNECTION The AT1 comes with an IEC mains lead fitted with the relevant plug type for the country of use. If there is any need to change this then follows the relevant instructions for the plug type used. There is an external replaceable fuse on the rear of the unit: refer to specifications for fuse value. Never replace with a different value. Be sure that your system is switched off whilst connecting / disconnecting any leads. AT1 ALCHEMIST AM/FM TUNER PRESETS BAND MEMORY TUNING POWER CONTROLS The controls on the fascia of the AT1 are: Presets, Band, Memory, Tuning Up/Down and Power. All functions are duplicated on the AA range system remote handset. Presets: This function is controlled by the cental knob. When rocked to the left once the preset number will decrease by one. If it is held over to the left then the preset number will decrease rapidly. The opposite is true for rocking the knob to the right. There are 50 presets that can be stored with any frequency from any band (see Memory). Band: This function will allow the selection between the available frequency bands; FM auto, FM, MW and LW. Memory: This function will allow you to store your preferred radio stations into the presets. To store; first find the desired frequency by depressing the Band selector and the tuning controls either up or down. When you have found the desired radio station then press the Memory function (a red Memory indicator will flash in the display area). Within the six seconds following the first press use the Preset function to select the required preset number to store this station. Once this has been determined press the Memory function again. This action will lock the selected station into the selected preset number. This operation can be repeated to store up to a total of 50 stations. Tuning Up/Down: This function allows you to either manually or automatically search through the desired bands. If you press either the up or down control once the FM frequency will increase or decrease by 0.05 MHz steps (9Mhz for MW and 1KHz for LW). CONTROLS cont... If you press and hold down, the up or down functions, for a two second period the frequency will automatically tune to the next available strong signal. You can store this into a preset in the normal way. When a strong station has been found the word tuned will appear in the display area. When a stereo FM broadcast is received the word Stereo will illuminate in the display area. Power: This will either fully power up the AT1 or be completely switched off. When listening to FM broadcasts it is advisable to fully extend the FM loop aerial. For best results install an outside roof aerial (consult a qualified installation agent for this). Rotate your MW/LW aerial until you get the best results. Specially manufactured by Alchemist Products Ltd. Specifications in UK. Peak Power Consumption: 8W RCA AUDIO OUTPUT MAINS INPUT. SOURCE CONNECTIONS As with all connections ensure that the equipment is switched off before you attempt to connect any cables. Gold to gold connections will ensure that a good electrical contact is maintained without the need for periodic cleaning. Take care that your input leads are correctly oriented for Right and Left channels. RED is usually Right and WHITE or BLACK is usually Left. Connect your AT1 to your amplifier vis the RCA audio output. Connect your FM aerial to the coaxial socket provided and your MW/LW aerial to the twist lock connectors provided. GENERAL CARE Any cleaning of your AT1 Tuner should be done with a clean dry cloth. Do not use any solvent or silicone based cleaning solutions.
