G520
Thank you for choosing the AlerteGPS G520, a real concentrate of the newest technologies. Highlights of the G520 are : - a 2 inches color display that shows the speed of your vehicle, the type of speed camera, the distance between your vehicle and the speed control... - a vocal warning system: vocal messages will warn you as you approach a speed control or a dangerous zone - the AlerteGPS European database, one of the most reactive databases. The G520 combines the GPS and the GPRS technologies to be more powerful and flexible. The updates are done automatically, there's no need to connect the device to a computer. The Real Time Alert function (RTA, optional) allows you to send and receive mobile speed cameras in REAL TIME! Please read this manual carefully so that you can feel familiar with all functionalities of the G520.

Description
G520 overview: Joystick: Up RTA (Real Time Alert) Left Speaker Connector for external antenna Battery Earphone USB Battery: ON / OFF Joystick Connector for external antenna: If your vehicle features an athermic windscreen, you should use an external antenna in order to ensure an optimal satellite connection (optional). You can add the RTA functionality to your G520. The RTA allows you to receive information about mobile speed controls in real time. If there's a mobile speed control on your way, you can also use the RTA function to send the information to the user community. More information about the RTA on: http://www. alertegps.com
Installing the G520
Different holders are available for the G520. Depending on the holder you have purchased or on the way you will use your G520 (car, bike), the installation may differ from the illustration. Please refer to alertegps.com for more information.

Your vehicle may have an athermic windscreen which may affect the satellite connection. In that case, you will need to use an optional external antenna.
Installing the G520 with an external antenna: - fix the external antenna on the roof of your vehicle and make sure to place the cable inside the cabin of the vehicle. - connect the antenna to the external antenna connector of the G520.
Important
- remove the device from the magnet before you leave your vehicle to avoid degradations and thefts - climatic conditions may influence the satellite connection.
To avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, never leave the G520 on the dashboard. Use only at temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 35°C (95°F).

Updates are done automatically: You don't need to connect your G520 to your computer to get the latest updates.

When should you connect your device to your computer?
Firmware updates are released if necessary. In that case, you should update your device to use the latest firmware version. You will need to use the G520 update software in order to update the firmware.
