Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

Quick Start Guide CONTROL PANEL THE CONTR OL PANEL Model 1595 We know you're excited about owning an ASKO dishwasher and you're anxious to get started, so here's a brief summary of the operation procedures. The page references in this Guide refer to the Use and Care Guide. To get the most out of your dishwasher's features, we recommend that you read the Use and Care Guide. Model 1595 has a touchpad control panel, as illustrated below. To select a wash program or option, simply press the appropriate touchpad. When you press a touchpad, a red indicator light at the upper left of the touchpad glows to show that you selected that program or option. After you've selected the desired wash program and options, press Start. Touchpad Controls Press these touchpads to select programs and options. Indicator Lights These lights glow red to indicate which program and options you have selected. 5 Pots and pans Rinse and hold Norm wash Quick wash Temp/Time Display Start Stop LED Window The LED window has four functions: to display temperature settings, program run time, delay time, and fault codes. Start After you've selected the desired wash program and options, press this touchpad to start the dishwasher. To stop the unit, press and hold this touchpad for five seconds. WASH PROGRAMS AND OPTIONS Your ASKO dishwasher has several wash programs and options specifically designed to reduce your energy costs and make your life easier. Press the touchpad(s) to select the desired program and option(s). The indicator lights will come on for the program and options you select. Wash Programs Pots and pans For the heaviest soiled loads, such as pots, pans, casseroles, etc. Norm wash For normal wash loads. Options When used with the low temperature settings, this option further reduces energy consumption without diminishing cleaning performance by lowering the water temperature in the prewash and main wash and extending the wash time. Temp Lets you select a high or low water temperature for the wash programs. (See "Temperature Options" on the next page.) The indicator light glows when it's on the high setting and remains off when it's on low. Heat fan dry Activates the heating element during the drying cycle to speed up the drying process. Delay Lets you delay running the dishwasher for five hours. After making your selections, press Delay then press Start and close the door. The machine will start on its own five hours later. Quick wash For lightly soiled loads washed immediately after use. Items such as fine china and crystal can be washed in this program, but you should use the low temperature setting and turn the Heat dry off. (Recommend 130° F) Rinse and hold To rinse dishes that you plan to wash later that day. 5 Start Stop Start After you've selected your wash program and options, press this touchpad to start the dishwasher. If you've started the dishwasher then decide to change a program or an option, press and hold Start for five seconds to cancel the program and stop the machine. Then press the touchpads for your desired selections and press Start again. The drain pump will run to remove any dirty water from the dishwasher before starting the newly selected program. PROGRAM MEMORY PR OGRAM MEMORY When you select the Pots and pans or Norm wash program, the dishwasher retains the settings until you change them. Simply press Start to use the previous settings. If you want to use a different wash program or option, press the touchpad(s) for the desired selections, then press Start. STAR PROCEDURES ART QUICK START PROCEDURES 1. Load the dishwasher. (There's no need to pre-rinse. Simply scrape off large food particles before you load the dishes.) 2. After you've pushed the baskets back inside the unit, manually rotate the upper and lower spray arms to be sure they turn freely. 3. Make sure there is rinse aid in the dispenser. Add rinse aid, if needed. 4. Add automatic dishwashing detergent and close the dispenser cover. (See "Amount of Dishwashing Detergent to Use" below.) 5. Close the door securely. 6. Select the desired wash program and option(s). A red light appears above the selected touchpad(s). 7. Press Start. The dishwasher will start. Refer to this page in the Use & Care Guide. 3, 4 3 5, 6 4, 5 AMOUNT OF DISHWASHING DETERGENT TO USE We recommend that you use only unscented, granular automatic dishwashing detergent. Generally, one tablespoon of detergent is needed for a normal wash load. More heavily soiled items, however, may need more detergent. Also, the amount of detergent needed can vary due to differences in water hardness. The harder the water, the more detergent you may need. (See page 5.) In any case, you should never use more than three tablespoons of detergent. LED WINDO W DISPLAYS WINDOW DISPLAY empera ture Temper a tur e Settings The wash programs (except Rinse) have water temperature options, as shown in the table to the right. The LED displays the temperature selections in degrees Celsius. The table gives both the Celsius and Fahrenheit temperatures. Once you select a temperature, it will remain selected until you change it (except the Quick wash programs, which reverts to 130° F). We recommend that you use the lower temperature settings whenever possible to conserve energy. Wash Program Pots and Pans Normal Quick Temperature Options 55° C (130° F) 55° C (130° F) 45° C (110° F) 70° C (160° F) 65° C (150° F) 55° C (130° F) Program Time When a program starts, the LED displays the time it took that program to run last time. As the program runs, the LED displays the remaining time. If the time exceeds an hour, the display alternates between the hour and minutes remaining. The hour is designated by an h (e.g., 1h). The program times may not always be the same because of variations in the household hot water temperature. The dishwasher heats the water to the proper temperature for the program selected, so if the temperature of the water entering your dishwasher is too low, the dishwasher will run longer because it takes longer to heat the water. Raising your water heater setting could help to shorten the cycle times. If this doesn't help, call the ASKO Advisory Center. Delay Time If you select the Delay option, the LED window displays "5h." To cancel delay, press the Delay touchpad until the LED displays zero. Fault Codes The LED window displays three fault codes, as illustrated below. Indicates a fault in the heater. Call your local service technician. Indicates high water level in the machine. Call the ASKO Advisory Center. Indicates a thermistor fault (heater control). Call your local service technician. This simply means the door isn't closed completely. UNDERSTANDING INDICAT UNDERSTANDING THE INDICAT OR LIGHTS When the dishwasher has finished, all of the indicator lights will come on. The lights will remain on until you open the door. When you open the door, the indicator light for the wash program you last used will come on. If you used the high temperature options and the heat dry option, those lights will come on, too. If all of the lights on the control panel flash in sequence, this means the machine has detected an overfill. (See page 7.) Should this happen, call the ASKO Advisory Center.
