Installation Instructions Part Number: 10.199.500K Description: Mk5 GTI, Jetta, and Rabbit Lower Engine Mount Insert Tools Required: Floor Jack, Jack Stands, 21mm socket and torque wrench Procedure: 1. Raise front of car high enough to fit jack stands under vehicle. 2. Position jack stands under car using factory lift points. 3. Loosen and remove the bolt that holds the pendulum mount (aka "dog bone") mount into the round bushings in the subframe. 4. Grease the long portion of the new billet insert and push it into place. The long side of the insert slides through an air gap in the bushing to the rear of the retaining bolt. Once installed the hole should be aligned with the original bolt hole. (There is quite a bit of effort required to push the insert into its new location. Sometimes it is necessary to reach around the subframe to the top side of the bushing and push down on the threaded portion of the factory bushing while pushing up on the insert. When installing the insert the threaded portion of the factory bushing tries to twist, so you must keep it from twisting.) 5. Re install the factory bolt and torque to 50 lbs. + an additional 90 degrees. 6. Carefully lower vehicle back onto the ground. Before During After ...
