Installation Instructions
PART NUMBER: 10.297.200K, 201K, 202K, 203K, 204K, 205K DESCRIPTION: AUTOTECH SPORTTUNED EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR A1 MODELS As the removal and installation of the A1 exhaust system is a relatively simple one, the purpose of this sheet will be to overview the procedure on how to perform a successful installation. Please read this entire page before proceeding. Note: Always use gloves and eye protection when working with exhaust system components. 1. 2. Loosen, but do not remove left rear wheel lug nuts. Jack up left side of car and secure with jackstands. Remove left rear wheel. Apply some penetrating oil to the slip joints and clamp bolts of your old exhaust before disassembling it. Wait a few hours for the penetrant to soak in and loosen up some of the rust. This will make disassembly of your old exhaust much easier. When installing the Autotech system, first lay out all the components on the ground to familiarize yourself with their installed orientation. Start from the front pipe (that bolts or slips onto the catalytic convertor) and work your way back, installing all components and clamps loosely so that you can rotate the parts if necessary for proper fit and alignment. Be sure to position the rear muffler so that the drain hole faces to the rear of the car.
