Infringing this requirement may expose you to civil and/or criminal prosecution. System requirements TransferMy Video runs under XP and Vista. Please, contact Avanquest Software or your dealer for other operating systems and any information on upgrading your software. Check the following points in order to ensure the application works correctly: · Local hard disk with at least 1.3 GB of available space · Microsoft Direct X 9 or above ·Windows Media Player 9.0 or above · DVD drive · Internet connection to download additional components when reading/ converting certain files For Windows® XP · PC fitted with a Pentium® IV 1.0 GHz type processor minimum · 512 MB of RAM For Windows® Vista · PC fitted with a Pentium® IV 2.0 GHz type processor minimum · 512 MB of RAM (recommended: 1024 MB) 2 TransferMy Video Installation To install TransferMy Video on your hard disk, insert the CD-ROM containing the program in the appropriate drive. If you install TransferMy Video from the CD-ROM in Windows® XP or Vista, the installation process is automatic. If the installation program does not start, proceed as follows: 1. Select the Run... option from the Start menu. 2. Type D:START (D: refers to the CD-ROM drive). 3. Click OK. An Installation Wizard will guide you step by step through the various stages for installing TransferMy Video. The contents of the CD-ROM are then copied to your hard disk and a program group is created to hold the icons for the TransferMy Video application. 3 TransferMy Video Description of TransferMy Video TransferMy Video is a tool that enables you to encode and convert a DVD movie to a film, so that it can be played on specific mobile devices: · Portable multimedia players such as the iPod · Portable gaming consoles such as Sony PSP, Nintendo DS Lite* (*requires Play Yan adapter) · Mobile phones · PDA · Smartphones TransferMy Video offers you two ways of selecting, converting and transferring your videos: Easy mode A wizard will guide you step by step to directly select, convert and transfer one video to a specific destination device. To switch to the Advanced mode, click on the Advanced mode>> button. Advanced mode The following five stages guide you to select, convert and transfer multiple videos. Stage 1: Choose your device , p. 9 Stage 2: Choose your source file , p. 9 Stage 3: Choose your video and audio settings , p. 10 Stage 4: Convert your video , p. 11 Stage 5: Transfer your video to your device , p. 12 To switch to the Easy mode, click on the Open... button then select Use Wizard option in the menu displayed. 4 TransferMy Video Interface of TransferMy Video Easy mode interface TransferMy Video is divided into three sections: · The source selection area (MY DVD, MY VIDEO FILE) · The destination device area · The preview area Advanced mode interface TransferMy Video is divided into three sections: 1. Left part VIDEOS ON MY COMPUTER The left part displays all the folders containing videos (other folders are ignored), and thus, constituing the library (the library can be updated). MY DVD The left part displays the name of the inserted DVD. 5 TransferMy Video 2. Central part The central part lists and details the videos and their contents. You can preview and at the same time select one ore more videos and convert them one after the other. 3. Right part MY CONVERSIONS The right part contains all the converted videos and allows you to transfer them onto your device. 6 TransferMy Video Using the Easy mode To directly select, convert and transfer one video to a specific destination device, follow the four different stages below. Note: With the Easy mode, you can only transfer one file at a time contrary to the Advanced mode which allows you to transfer multiple files. Stage 1: Source selection Select a DVD by clicking on the corresponding Browse button. The application prompts you to select the: · DVD drive · Audio Stream (language selection) · Subtitle Click the OK button. The video is loaded in the preview screen. Or Select a video file by clicking on the corresponding Browse button. The video is loaded in the preview screen. Stage 2: Destination device selection Select your destination device by clicking on the OUTPUT TO drop-down list. Stage 3: Conversion Note: The first time you read or convert a DVD/Video file, TransferMy Video needs to download additional codec software. Click OK to allow the dowload. Click on the Start Conversion button displayed in the preview screen. The conversion starts. To stop the conversion, click the Cancel button. 7 TransferMy Video Important: If you have a trial version, your video will be converted with watermarks. To remove them and switch to a full version: 1 - Click on the Register button when prompted. The Avanquest software website as well as a license key activation window are displayed. 2 - Enter the serial number in the appropriate fields. 3 - Click on the Activate button. Stage 4: Transfer Your files can be transferred if there is a cable link between your PC and your mobile device. 1. Ensure your mobile device is switched on and connected to the PC through a USB Cable. 2. Click on the Transfer button. The Transfer method choice window is displayed. 3. Select your communication method (Bluetooth, Mass-storage or ActiveSync) and follow the instructions. Information: Bluetooth is a wireless technology which allows digital devices to easily transfer files at high speed. Bluetooth is common in many portable devices such as laptops, PDAs and mobile phones. Mass-storage is a connection which allows you to link your mobile phone to your computer using a USB cable. It encompasses both USB disk and MTP. ActiveSync is a transfer method dedicated to mobile Windows devices such as Smartphones and PDAs. 4. Once the transfer is complete, check that the file, which has been transferred, is actually in your device. For more details about Easy mode see online help (F1). 8 TransferMy Video Using the Advanced mode Stage 1: Choose your device At the installation of the application, the Device Configuration Wizard prompted you to select a device manufacturer and model. To make a change, proceed as follows: 1. Click on Or . Select the Change your device option from the Open... button. The Device Configuration Wizard is displayed. 2. Select the device manufacturer you wish to use. 3. Click the device model you wish to view your film on. 4. Click OK. Stage 2: Choose your source file Choose a Video File TransferMy Video displays all the folders containing videos on your computer in the left part of the main screen. 1. In the VIDEOS ON MY COMPUTER section, to select your video file(s), browse the corresponding folder(s). The video file(s) contained in the selected folder appear(s) in the central part. Note: The Open... button allows you to add an individual file (and a folder to the library) that does not appear in the central part of the main screen. Click the Open... button then select the Open File option. For more details see online Help (F1). 2. Select the video file(s) by clicking on its/their corresponding checkbox(es). 9 TransferMy Video Choose a DVD 1. Insert a DVD into your player. The name of the DVD displays in the MY DVD section. 2. Click on the name of the DVD you want to convert. The content of the DVD (episodes and bonus) is automatically displayed in the central part. 3. Select the movie (main episode) and/or the bonus(es) you wish to convert by clicking on its/their corresponding checkbox(es). Once you choose a Video File or a DVD, if you want to change the video and audio settings, proceed as follows: 1. From the central part of the main screen, select the video file by clicking on its corresponding checkbox. 2. Click on the Video Settings button. The Video Settings window is displayed. For more information, go to Stage 3: Choose your video and audio settings , p. 10. Stage 3: Choose your video and audio settings 1. To specify the video format and the video quality, use the drop-down list. Notes: The supported video formats are: mp4 (H264), mp4 (MPEG-4), WMV, AVI, 3GP. However, the available displayed formats will depend on the device selected. The file size is dependent on the video quality (High, Normal, Low): the bigger the size file, the better the quality will be, and vice versa. 2. If the video was taken with an acquisition card or a cam, select the corresponding checkbox. This option de-interlaces your video images. It prevents horizontal lines from forming when images move rapidly in the interlaced video, which is the case when they are made with the help of camcorders or video & acquisition cards. 3. Choose the image settings To change the image size and eliminate the black bands above and below the image (remove mattes), move the cursor accordingly. 10 TransferMy Video To set the image quality: brightness, saturation, contrast, move the corresponding cursors accordingly. 4. Choose the audio settings To specify the audio quality of the video (high, normal, low), use the drop-down list. Information: If you have previously selected several video files/episodes, then you can go from one video to another with the Previous and Next buttons located at the bottom of the Video Settings window. 5. To confirm your modifications, click on the OK button. Or To apply the default parameters, click on the Default button. Stage 4: Convert your video Once you choose a Video File or a DVD then manage audio and video settings, if needed, you can convert your video as follows: Important: If you have a trial version, your video will be converted with watermarks. 1 - To remove them and switch to a full version: 2 - Click on the Register button when prompted.
