RHINO CRANK COCKING DEVICE ASSEMBLY AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Remove the butt plate on the rear stock of your Rhino by removing the two Phillips head screws. 2. Insert Rhino Crank Device unit on the rear stock of Rhino. Attach unit with the two new screws included with the crank device shown in figure 1. Figure 1 Figure 4 Operation 1. To cock your crossbow using the Rhino Crank Device, first release the safety latch (on the crank). Then pull the hooks until they reach the groove directly behind and below the scopemounting bracket. 2. Place the rope into the groove. See Figure 2. Continue pulling the hooks down and attach to string keeping hooks tight to flight track Reengage Crank safety. See Figure 3. 3. Slowly crank the handle so that it moves in a forward rotation see figure 4. The crossbow safety will engage when crossbow is cocked. Figure 2 Figure 3 4. During shooting we recommend pulling the string hooks and rope backward off the crossbow and letting them hang fully extended below the back of the stock, or wind the rope and hooks back in. The crank handle can be rotated some to provide a comfortable shooting position. DO NOT FIRE your crossbow with the Crank Cocking Device hooks still fixed on the string. This may cause severe damage to your bow or personal injury. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Barnett International Inc. Warranty Registration on opposite side *** DO NOT TURN THE HANDLE BACKWARDS WHILE DRAWING THE BOW! THIS WILL DAMAGE THE ROPE*** The latch mechanism should always be engaged when cocking the crossbow. An audible clicking sound should be present while turning the handle in a forward rotation. If this clicking sound is not present, pull latch release down to engage. If the clicking sound is still not present, improper installation may have occurred. Re-check installation and contact the Barnett Service Department at 1-800-237-4507. Note: The Crank Cocking Device cannot be turned in reverse while the latching mechanism is engaged. Once the crossbow is cocked, the latch must be disengaged so that the string hooks can be removed from the string. Always leave the latch mechanism engaged when the crossbow is not in use. Uncocking the Crossbow Do not uncock the crossbow with the Crank Cocking Device. This could cause injury and damage to your crossbow. The best way to uncock a crossbow with a Crank Cocking Device attached is to shoot an arrow into the ground. You may want to keep an old arrow in your quiver at all times for this purpose.
