HOW TO USE This appliance is for household use and may be plugged into any AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet. TO USE: For a complete styling, hair should be clean, dry, and free from dirt, hair spray, creams, etc. PRE-HEAT: Rest the iron on a smooth, flat surface, and plug in. Set the heat switch at High or Low position, and allow iron to heat. It takes 60-90 seconds to heat up. For optimum styling temperature, allow iron to heat for 2-3 minutes before using. Use High heat for normal hair and for hard-to-straighten hair, simply holding hair between plates a bit longer for hair that resists straightening. Use Low heat for hair that has been color-treated, or is fragile or damaged. TO STRAIGHTEN HAIR: Work with hair sections that are approximately 21/2" wide and 3/4"deep. Place hair between the hot plates and press down firmly. Hold in place for a few seconds and pull through hair, maintaining some tension. For a finishing touch, turn straightening iron under just a half turn when nearing end of hair. Then, simply release pressure from handle and allow hair to slip out. Repeat the process until the desired hairstyle is achieved. TO USE STRAIGHTENING TEETH ATTACHMENT: The straightening teeth fit around the top plate to help smooth and straighten hair as iron is pulled through it. To secure, grasp attachment by the edges, and slide it along sides of top plate as far as it will go. Plug unit in, switch on and allow iron to heat. To remove, unplug unit and allow to cool completely. Then grip sides of attachment and slide it gently off the unit. CAUTION: Always make sure iron is unplugged and has cooled completely before attempting to attach or remove straightening teeth.
