This clears the blade faster and helps to feed the thicker twigs into the blade teeth. Slowly feed the shrubber through heavy branches using only a portion of the cutting edges. Should the shrubber stall on these heavy pieces, stop immediately and release the switch. CAUTION: Do not use the shrubber for cutting stems greater than 5/16" (7.9mm). Use the shrubber only for cutting normal shrubbery found around houses and buildings. FIG 7 FIG 8 MAINTENANCE It is easy to remove sap and dirt deposits when they are fresh and moist, but difficult after they become dry. Therefore, it is recommended that you wash the blades in water after each use. Hold the BLADES under a running faucet or in a pan of water and turn the appliance "ON" to help dislodge the deposits. Do not operate appliance with charger attached. (There is no electric shock hazard from the shear's low-voltage power supply.) If the buildup of sap is difficult to remove, it may be necessary (with the motor "OFF") to scrub the blades with soap and a stiff bristle brush. After cleaning, wipe the blades with a cloth and allow them to dry. Then, with a rag, apply a thin film of light engine oil to the top and bottom of the blades. Do not over oil. Turn the Appliance "ON" for a few seconds to work the lubricant between the blades. LUBRICATION No periodic relubrication of the bearings or mechanism is required.
