When setting the time, the alarm will not sound at the correct time if the auxiliary time is not properly set according to the primary time. 4 D SETTING THE ALARM The alarm function of this watch uses a 12-hour clock. When the alarm function is turned off, the auxiliary time will switch over to the primary time, and run concurrently with primary time. [When using the vibration alarm] · Vibrations may not be felt easily if the watch is worn too loosely. Wear the watch so that the watch body is constantly in contact with your arm. · It may also be difficult to feel the vibrations during strenuous exercise or when performing work that involves swinging or shaking your arm. · If you take off your watch and simply carry it in your pocket and so forth, it may not be possible to detect that the vibration alarm has gone off when the set alarm time is reached. In such cases, switch from the vibration alarm to the sound alarm. [When Using the sound alarm] · If you wear your watch tightly on your wrist, it may be difficult to hear the alarm sound. Wear the watch somewhat loosely to hear the alarm sound better. · When it is difficult to hear the alarm sound due to high levels of surrounding noise and so forth, switch to the vibration alarm. · Switch to the vibration alarm when desiring to be informed of the time by the alarm in a manner that does not inconvenience those around you. * Refer to the alarm identification mark on the display to determine whether the watch is set to the sound alarm or vibration alarm. 7 E TROUBLESHOOTING (irregular 2-second interval movement) When the watch is not worn or when carried in a pocket or other clothing so that the watch falls to a temperature lower than that when normally worn, the vibration motor low temperature power saving feature is activated. This feature automatically turns off the vibration alarm function. When this vibration motor low temperature power saving feature has been activated, the second hand switches to irregular 2-second interval movement. When this happens warm up the watch body by putting the watch on your arm in the manner it is worn normally. The watch will then switch from irregular 2-second interval movement and return to normal operation. The sound alarm operates normally. 8 F LOW BATTERY WARNING FEATURE (2-second interval movement) As the battery approaches the end of its services life, the second hand will switch to 2-second interval movement, in which the second advances two seconds at the time, informing the wearer that the battery is nearly worn out. When this happens, have the battery replaced promptly. When the low battery warning feature is activated, the sound alarm function and vibration alarm function will no longer operate. 9 G PRECAUTIONS AND USEFUL INFORMATION Indication Degree of water resistance Use Case Spray, sweat, light rain, washing, etc. Swimming, etc. Dial A B C D E WATER RESISTANT 30M (3ATM) WATER RESISTANT 50M (5ATM) WATER RESISTANT 100M (10ATM) WATER RESISTANT 200M (20ATM) or more WATER RESISTANT WATER RESISTANT WATER RESISTANT WATER RESISTANT NO YES YES YES YES NO NO YES YES YES "WATER RESISTANT" may sometimes be abbreviated to "WATER RESIST" - In order to prevent water coming into contact with the internal mechanism, never pull the crown out when the watch is wet. - If any watches designed for sportswear or use in water come into contact with salt water or heavy sweating, they should be rinsed in fresh water and dried thoroughly. 10 in water Skin-diving Scuba diving Water-resistance characteristics NO NO NO YES YES NO NO NO NO YES No water resistant. However, if it persists for any length of time, the watch should be checked by the shop where it was purchased or by the nearest Authorised Service Centre. 11 Temperature Do not leave the watch exposed to direct sunlight or temperature extremes for long periods of time. Long exposure, in fact, may adversely affect the operation of the watch and actually shorten battery life, causing it to gain or lose time and affect its other functions. Impact This watch can withstand normal everyday impacts and shocks and those normally imparted by non-contact sports. Serious damage, however, may result if the watch is dropped or subjected to severe shock. Magnetic fields This watch is antimagnetic up to 60 gauss, and is therefore not affected by magnetic fields produced by normal domestic appliances. If used near strong magnetic fields, its operation may be temporarily affected. Static electricity The integrated circuits present inside the watch are sensitive to static electricity. If the watch is exposed to intense electrical fields, the time display may temporarily lose some of its accuracy. Chemicals and gases Avoid wearing the watch in the presence of strong gases or chemical substances. Parts of the watch may discolour, dissolve or even break if brought into contact with benzol or petroleum based products such as solvents, thinners, detergent, adhesives etc. ...
