Before using the product, please read the instructions contained in this manual and take time to familiarize yourself with the different parts and features of the product. PARTS AND NAMES SYSTEM OPERATION Power On Capture Push the option select switch to still camera mode. AC adaptor/AA Battery Power On Movie Capture Push the option select switch to movie mode. Playback - Still Open the LCD monitor. Playback-Movie Open the LCD monitor. Image/Movie Export Open the terminal cover. Open the LCD monitor. Push the option select switch to still camera mode. Push the option select switch to movie mode. Use the USB cable to connect. Strap Buckle Adjust the focus knob. Press the shutter button to start recording. Press the shutter button again to stop recording. You can record up to a 30 second movie clip. If over 30 seconds, the binocular will keep the last 30 seconds. Press the display button. Press the display button. Press the shutter button. Use the operation panel to select an image. Exit 3 OPERATION GUIDE - Image Capture UTIOperating Procedure 1. Press the Power Button Picture Description Binocular Action Use the power button to turn the binocular on and off. The LCD will turn off automatically to conserve power if it is left idle (no button or switches operated) for 2 minutes. The camera will turn off the main power to conserve energy if left idle for 5 minutes Now you can take images in capture mode. This procedure selects still image record/playback Compose images using either the monitor screen or binocular eyepieces. OPERATION GUIDE - Movie Capture 1. Compose images using either the monitor screen or binocular eyepiece. Focusing should always be done while viewing the LCD monitor. 5 2. Push the capture mode of the Option Select Switch to Still Camera Mode. 3. Open the LCD Monitor 2. Push the Movie mode of the option select switch to Movie mode Open the LCD monitor 4. Adjust the Center Focus Knob to make the image of your subject clear on the LCD monitor. 3. 4 4. Change the number at the highlighting position. Use the "Left Arrow" and "Right Arrow" buttons to select the highlighting position. And use the "Up Arrow" and "Down Arrow" buttons to change the number. Go back to still image playback mode The "Format CF" setting shows on the screen. Set items at the highlighting position. Yes ­ Format CF Card No ­ Cancel Format Time and Date 1. Use the buttons on the operation panel to select the managing file option Use the "Up Arrow" and "Down Arrow" buttons to select the images. Use the "Left Arrow" and "Right Arrow" buttons to select [Exit ­ Delete ­ Lock] option Go back to playback images mode 1. Use the buttons on the operation panel to set the Time and Date 2. Press the enter button 2. Press the enter button Set-Up Function You cannot enter the Set-Up Function if no memory card is inserted Format CF 1. Press the display button Display the setting screen 1. Use the buttons on the operation panel to select Yes or No. 2. Press the enter button 10 If a memory card has been inserted, press the enter button, the use the direction arrow buttons to select the settings 2. Press the enter button Go back to image playback mode 11 Operating Procedure Picture Description Video Out Binocular Action The Video Out setting shows on the screen. The default is NTSC (US/Japan video standard) Choose PAL if applicable to your country (most European and Asian countries) Go back to image playback mode. Operating Procedure Picture Description Sound Binocular Action The key sound setting shows on the screen. The default is on. 1. Use the buttons on the operation panel to select the Video Out setting 2. Press the enter button 1. Use the buttons on the operation panel to select sound setting. 2. Press the enter button The key sound setting shows on the screen. The current setting is off. Go back to playback images Mode Resolution The resolution setting shows on the screen. The default is 1600x1200. Panel Brightness The panel brightness setting shows on the screen. The current brightness is identified by the arrowhead. The panel brightness is controlled by the arrowhead. 1. Us the buttons on the operation panel to select resolution setting. The resolution setting shows on screen. The current setting is 800x600. 1. Use the buttons on the operation panel to select resolution setting. 2. Press the enter button Go back to playback images mode Restore the capture mode 13 2. Open the LCD monitor View movie using the monitor screen. 1. Use the buttons of the operation panel to select the movie. The currently selected movie will be framed (highlighted). 4. Press display button The recorded movie is displayed on the monitor 2. Press the enter button The recorded movie is displayed on the monitor screen. 14 15 Operating Procedure 3.
