OPERATING INSRUCTIONS 1. Removetheobjectivelenscapfromtheobjectivelens(1). 2. Slidethebatterydooropenandremovethebatterycartridge.InsertsixAAalkalineor6AAnickelcadmiumbatteriesinto thebatterycartridge(2)Besuretoobservethepolarityindicatorsasshownwithinthebatterycartridge. 3. Insertthebatterycartridgeintothedevicemakingsurethatthecartridgeconnectorsaremakingcontactwiththecontacts withinthedevice. 4. PresstheONbutton(3)topowerthedeviceon.AstablegreenLEDindicatorlight(4)indicatesthatthedeviceisreadyfor use.Aflashinggreenindicatorlightindicatesthatthebatterypowerislow.Aflashingredindicatorlightindicatesthatthe batterypowerisempty. 5. Tofocustheimage,firstadjusttheeyepiecediopter(9)andthenrotatetheobjectivelens(1)untilthedisplayscreenisinfocus andtheviewisclearest.Atthispoint,theeyepiecediopterissetforyourindividualeyesightandwillnotrequirefurther adjustmentwhenviewingobjectsatdifferentdistances.Whenchangingtheviewingdistance,simplyrotatetheobjective lens(1)untiltheimageisinfocus. 7. Toadjusttheimagebrightnessoftheviewingscreen,eitherpressthe"+"(6)toincreasebrightnessorthe"-"(7)todecrease brightness.Ifthedeviceisturnedoffandthenbackon,thebrightnesslevelwillreturntothepreviousbrightnesslevel. 8. Whenyoupowerthedeviceon,theshortrangeInfraredIlluminator(13)isautomaticallyturnedon. 9. StealthView Digital Night Vision also contains a "super" infrared (I.R.) diode (14) for illumination of objects in complete darknesswherenoambientlightsource,suchasmoonlight,isavailable.ToactivatethesuperIR,simplypresstheIRbutton (10)locatednexttotheONbutton.Ifthedeviceisfocusedonanobjectcloserthan15yards/meters,theemissionspot ofthis"super"infrared(brightlightcircle)willbeshiftedtotherightsideofthedisplay.Whilefocusingfromoneobjectto anotherobject,itmightbenecessarytorotatetheobjectivelensandincreaseordecreaseimagebrightnessoftheviewing screeninordertoachievethebestimagequality. 10.TheStealthViewcontainsavideooutputport(11).ThisportallowsonetotransmitimagestoanexternalLCDmonitoror videorecorder.PlugtheoutputvideocableintotheStealthViewvideooutputport(11).WhentheStealthViewiscoupled withvideoequipment,theobservedimagecanberecorded. 11.TheStealthViewalsocontainsa12voltauxiliarypowerport(12).ToconnecttheStealthViewtothisport,plugthepower cable(notincluded)intotheStealthView'spowerinputportandconnecttheotherendofthecabletothevehicle'sauxiliary power port. To connect the StealthView to a household outlet, use a 12 volt dc output switching power adapter (not included). NOTE:Whenthebatteriesareinthebatterycartridgeandtheexternalpowersourceisturnedon,thedeviceoperatesonthe externalpowersource.Ifyouunplugtheexternalpowersource,andyouwanttousethebatterysource,youhavetopress theONbutton(3)tomakethedeviceoperate. Checkthatthebatteriesandbatterycartridge(2)areinstalledcorrectly.Ifthebatteriesandcartridgeareinstalledcorrectly andthebatteriesaregood,thenthegreenLEDindicatorlightshouldbeon. 2. Checkthatthepowerbutton(3)hasbeendepressedtotheONposition. Imageisnotfocused. 1. Adjustthefocusoftheobjectivelens(1)andeyepiecediopter(9). 2. AdjusttheLCDbrightnessscreenupordownuntilsatisfactory. 3. TryturningthesuperI.R.spotlightON(10).Typically,thesuperI.Rspotlightneedstobeonwhenviewingobjectsfaraway incompletedarknessandcanbeoffwhenviewingobjectsatclosedistanceswithsomeambientlight.
