Main Unit Wireless Sensor Thank You! We appreciate you for purchasing this wireless thermometer. We hope you enjoy using this versatile wireless thermometer! Features: · Main unit with indoor and outdoor LCD temperature display. · Wireless Sensor ­ range is 100' (33m). · Temperature measurement ranges: Indoor display unit: 32º F to 122º F Outdoor remote sensor: 0º F to 130º F · Battery operated. (batteries not included) 1 CHECK PACKAGE CONTENTS (1) Main unit - dimensions: 3" x 2.4" x 0.75"(7.6cm x 6.1cm x 2cm)* (1) Wireless Sensor ­ dimensions: 2" x 2.5" x 1.3"(5.4cm x 6.4 cm x 2.9cm)* (1) Instructions *Dimensions are approximate. NOTE: Carefully remove the units from their packaging. Discard the packaging and save the instructions. 2 READ Please read these instructions carefully before you set up the thermometer. In this way you can become familiar with all of the thermometer's features and get the most benefit from them. PLEASE DISPOSE OF OLD OR DEFECTIVE BATTERIES IN AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE WAY IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS 3 INSTALLATION Operating Range of Batteries LITHIUM BATTERIES ALKALINE BATTERIES -22ºF (-30ºC) -4ºF (-20ºC) (70ºC) (70ºC) 158ºF 158ºF Severe cold (below -4º F/-20º C) can cause alkaline batteries to freeze and function improperly. Use lithium batteries in extremely low temperature conditions to ensure continued operation. Main Unit The Main unit is intended for indoor use only. When deciding where to put the main unit, choose a dry location away from dust, dirt, mold and smoke, and avoid temperature extremes. Do not drop the main unit. It is a sensitive electronic device, and is not designed to withstand high impact blows. NOTE: Install batteries in the MAIN UNIT before putting batteries in the wireless sensor. Main Unit Batteries: On the back of the unit, remove the battery compartment cover. Insert 2 AAA alkaline (or lithium) batteries making sure they are installed according to the correct polarity (+/-). Replace the cover. Wireless Sensor This water resistant wireless sensor is intended for outdoor use. When deciding where to place the sensor, make sure it will be protected from direct sunlight and from precipitation. Do not drop the remote sensor. It is sensitive, and not designed to withstand high impact blows. Wireless Sensor Batteries: On the back of the wireless sensor unit, remove the battery compartment cover. Insert 2 AAA alkaline (or lithium) batteries making sure they are installed according to the correct polarity (+/-). Replace the cover. You may need to wait a few minutes after batteries are installed for the units to communicate with each other. When they do, both the indoor and outdoor temperatures will be shown on the main unit LCD display. If nothing is displayed, refer to section 4 of this manual for troubleshooting. NOTE: The sensor's LED flashes momentarily whenever it sends information ­ about once each minute. Main Unit Wireless Sensor Placement & Mounting Choose a location for each unit that is at least 10 feet away from other electronic devices that may interfere with the wireless signal. When you decide on a good location, (A steady signal from the sensor is being received by the main unit LCD display), hang the main unit and wireless sensor using the triangular indents found on the backs of the units. You may also choose to place the main unit on a table-top surface using the included fold-out stand. 4 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM Main Unit LCD display shows ­ ­ ­ continuously for the OUT display. SOLUTION a. Wireless sensor is located too far from the main unit, move the sensor closer to the main unit. b. Sensor batteries may need replacing, replace batteries according to instructions in this manual. NOTE:After replacing remote sensor batteries, you must press the RESET button on the LCD display unit. Follow section 3 of this instruction booklet and replace the batteries in the main unit. The main unit may be affected by electrical interference. Press the RESET button on the main unit. This should give you the indoor temperature immediately and the outdoor temperature within one minute. The sensor may be affected by electrical interference. Press the RESET button on the remote sensor. (located inside the battery compartment between the batteries.) If the RESET button is pressed, you then also must press the RESET button on the Main units. You may also need to relocate all units away from any electronic interference to restore normal operation. Main Unit LCD display is blank. The main unit does not display any readings Main Unit LCD display is operating erratically Wireless Sensor Unit is operating erratically 5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Batteries: 4 x AAA alkaline (or lithium) cell batteries (not included). ...
