Datalog 3 - SMS Software Application Sheet MOLYNX VISILYNX CCTV Module V1.0 Introduction The Datalog 3 software will operate with the Molynx Visilynx, Visilynx2 and TTX600 series CCTV matrix when connected via a suitable interface to a Datalog serial port. When used with the Visilynx series a Card (PCBV309) should be fitted with PCCON2 firmware to allow Datalog control. A subset of the commands can sent by the Datalog can also be used to control a TTX309 standalone interface which converts the commands into the standard Molynx Data Protocol, allowing the PC, etc. to control Molynx receivers. The TTX309 can also control a Molynx 600-series, either by being the sole controller connected directly to a 640 video switching unit or by acting as a slave keyboard on an existing system. The slave keyboard address is selectable. The Datalog will allow the automatic call up upon alarm condition of up to four cameras to preset positions and supports two banks of four monitors for alarm switching. The Datalog will send the current time/date at program start up and whenever the time is changed on the Datalog PC. As only a subset of the PCCON2 commands are available with the TTX309, some minor differences in operation may be expected. See Product Variations Molynx Visilynx CCTV Module - Page 1 of 6 CORTECH DEVELOPMENTS LTD Downloaded from: http://www.guardianalarms.net Datalog 3 - SMS Software Application Sheet Installation Connection A serial connection is required between the Datalog 3 PC and the CCTV controller matrix as shown. The serial link between the Datalog PC and the CCTV matrix is 9600 baud, 8 Data bits, 1 start bit, Even parity and 1 stop bit. The PC connections are as follows: PC 25 Way D PC 9 Way TTX309/PCCON2 D Pin 2 (Tx) Pin 3 (Tx) Pin 2 (Rx) Pin 3 (Rx) Pin 2 (Rx) Pin 3 (Tx) Pin 5 (CTS) Pin 8 (CTS) Pin 4 (DTR) Pin 20 (DTR) Pin 4 (DTR) Pin 8 (CTS) Pin 7 (Gnd) Pin 5 (Gnd) Pin 5 (Gnd) Cable distance between the PC and the CCTV matrix should not exceed 15 metres unless suitable line drivers are used. The Datalog Communication port is shown on the Molynx setup Window. See Configuration Molynx Visilynx CCTV Module - Page 2 of 6 CORTECH DEVELOPMENTS LTD Datalog 3 - SMS Software Application Sheet Configuration Only users with `User Setup' privilege can set up camera switching via the Datalog on screen menus. Log onto the system and enter the select the `User Setup' menu under the `System' menu. Once the setup window is displayed select the relevant setup button. The CCTV setup window consists of a table of all alarm zones on the system showing any cameras/pre-position numbers allocated to the zone. If an entry is zero or blank then that particular camera/pre-position will not be switched upon alarm. The alarm monitor bank edit boxes allow the user to specify the monitor(s) which will be used for alarm purposes. These are split into two banks and the cameras will be displayed on alternate banks in multiple alarm conditions. If only one bank is required or less than four monitors are needed for alarm switching, then leaving the relevant monitor(s) as zero will override alarm bank and monitor call up actions. For example if a second alarm monitor bank is not required then leave all four bank 2 monitors as zero. The serial port and data rate settings are confirmed in the status bar at the bottom of the setup window. Press the `Save' button to store the changes and `Abort' to exit setup without saving. The `Text' button allows a test transmission which should simulate an alarm on the selected zone. Operation Automatic Camera Switching Operation The Datalog can pre-position up to 4 cameras upon alarm and allocate these 4 camera views to 4 monitors. The Datalog supports up to 2 banks of 4 monitors if required. Upon st the 1 alarm bank 1 monitors will be allocated cameras and subsequent alarms will be allocated to bank 2, then bank 1, then 2 etc. In situations when 2 banks are not required then a single set of alarm monitors may be used. When the Datalog is reset in a multiple alarm situation then camera views will be set to the alarm positions as each alarm is reset. Once the last alarm that references a given monitor is reset, the Datalog will issue the `Sequence Recall 1' command to the specific monitor. Molynx Visilynx CCTV Module - Page 3 of 6 CORTECH DEVELOPMENTS LTD Datalog 3 - SMS Software Application Sheet Manual Camera Switching & PTZ Operation This function gives the user the capability to switch certain cameras to particular monitors and to operate fully functional (PTZ) cameras. This panel will be displayed on the PC screen if the user right clicks on any particular camera icon displayed on the Datalog main screen and then chooses the Camera Control option. The following screen will appear. To switch any camera on the system to a particular monitor, complete the following procedure: · · Select the desired camera by clicking on the relevant icon displayed in this window Select the desired monitor that you wish it to appear on by clicking on the relevant monitor icon the camera should now appear on the monitor The LCD style display will indicate the camera number selected, type (Fixed or functional) and the cameras name, in addition to the monitor number. Molynx Visilynx CCTV Module - Page 4 of 6 CORTECH DEVELOPMENTS LTD Datalog 3 - SMS Software Application Sheet The same procedure can be used for switching PTZ cameras to the monitors. However, there is added functionality for control of the PTZ units. The buttons numbered 1 to 8 on the right of the form are for switching PTZ cameras to their pre-set positions. These will be available to the user if they have been pre-configured at editing time. To move a particular PTZ camera to any of the available pre-set positions, simply click on the relevant camera icon and click on any of the buttons 1 to 8. If pre-set positions are not available, then these buttons will be greyed out. The central group of buttons, below the monitor selection icons, permit the following operations: · · · · · · · · Zoom in Zoom out Focus near Focus far Open iris Close iris Operate wiper Operate wash Hopefully these icons are self-explanatory, however a text description will appear at runtime if the cursor is held directly over any particular button. To the left of the form are two sliding bars, which enable the adjustment of pan and tilt speeds. The markers can be dragged along these bars to adjust the speed between zero and one hundred percent of the maximum permissible. These percentages will subsequently be updated and displayed in the small windows below the sliding bars. At program start, the speeds will default to 50%. If speeds are changed the value is stored for each camera, for the duration of the program. To the right of all the buttons described above, are the PTZ camera pan and tilt controls. To pan and/or tilt any fully functional camera, just click on the relevant buttons displaying the directional arrows. Click on the centre button to restore the camera to its home position. Select Close if you wish to end the current session. Molynx Visilynx CCTV Module - Page 5 of 6 CORTECH DEVELOPMENTS LTD Datalog 3 - SMS Software Application Sheet Product Variations TTX309 The TTX309 interface does not support the set time and date command. Therefore a CCTV matrix connected via the interface (eg TTX309 series) will not allow time/date synchronisation with the Datalog PC.
