PRIMA DONNA/ PRIMA DONNA CLASSICO Electric Stove Instructions for use Please retain for future reference Thank you for choosing to purchase a De'Longhi Prima Donna stove. Please read the instructions carefully in order to enjoy your product fully. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Remove the stove from the packaging, checking that neither the stove nor the power cable has been damaged during transportation. Do not operate the stove if damaged. The pebbles/coal are found within the packaging down the sides of the stove, so ensure that the accessories are removed before discarding any packaging. FITTING THE LEGS Remove the legs from the polystyrene packaging. Lay the stove on its back on a rug or soft surface in order to prevent damaging the paint finish. Screw the three legs firmly into the three holes in the base of the stove and place it in an upright position. POSITIONING OF THE STOVE Your stove is designed for use throughout your living area, such as against a wall, in a corner or within a fireplace to add instant warmth and ambience. Position the fire so that the plug socket is accessible. Always ensure there is sufficient airflow, otherwise the operation of the stove will be compromised. IMPORTANT: Always operate the stove with the legs attached. Failure to do this will present a danger of overheating. PLACING THE PEBBLES/ COAL Depending on which stove you have purchased you will find pebbles or coal packed with your stove. In order to place the pebbles/coal on the shelf within the stove you will need to remove the silver front panel. The front panel is held in place by two magnets at the top and by two pegs at the bottom. Remove the silver front panel of the stove as follows: 1. Firmly hold both sides of the silver front panel 2. Carefully pull the top of the panel towards you, away from the magnets 3. Slide the panel upwards until the pegs come out of their holes Once the stove is placed in your chosen location, unpack the pebbles/coal from the accessory box. The pebbles/ coal are natural; therefore variation in size, shape and colour will occur. Arrange the coal/ pebbles as you wish using as many as you require. If your stove has pebbles, we suggest spreading the smaller ones across the shelf as a base. The 3 large pebbles should then be placed on top with the medium ones used to fill any gaps where light could escape. To replace the front panel, relocate and slide the pegs back into their holes and push the top of the panel to reconnect with the magnets. 2 LIGHT PATTERN AND PIPE ACCESSORY PACKS To customise the stove to your liking the following accessories are available for purchase: 1. Accessory packs of different coloured filters are available from De'Longhi. 2. A metal stove "mock flue" pipe is available as an additional accessory. If this is not available for sale through your retailer please contact De'Longhi Customer Services. De'Longhi Customer Services: 0845 6006845 OPERATING THE STOVE The stove is controlled by a row of 3 switches located above the stove's front right leg. Turning on the Light Pattern and Flame Effect The light pattern can operate with or independently from the heat. The nearest switch to the front of the stove turns the light pattern on and off. Pressing this switch down, turns the light pattern on with no heat, so that you may enjoy the flame effect all year round. When this switch is pressed up, the light pattern is off. Heat Levels For minimum heat, press the switch marked with one bar (1kW). For maximum heat, press both the switch marked with one bar and the switch marked with two bars (2kW). Automatic Safety Cut Out This heater is fitted with an automatic cut out to prevent any damage due to overheating. The heater will automatically cut out if the airflow is obstructed. To reset the stove, disconnect the plug from the power socket for a few minutes, remove the cause of obstruction and allow a suitable cooling period before plugging it in again. Noise As with all fan driven appliances the stove will make some noise due to the movements of air occurring, this is perfectly normal. MAINTENANCE Before any maintenance/cleaning is undertaken always disconnect the stove from the power supply. Replacing light bulbs The Prima Donna comes fitted with two 60W daylight (craftlight) bayonet cap bulbs. The Prima Donna Classico comes fitted with two 40W red bayonet cap bulbs. Replacements are available from good hardware/large DIY stores. To change the bulbs you will need to remove the silver front panel, but first, allow a suitable time for the bulbs to cool. 3 The bulbs can easily be changed as follows: 1. Firmly hold both sides of the silver front panel 2. Carefully pull the top of the panel towards you, away from the magnets 3. Slide the panel upwards until the pegs come out of their holes 4. Now the bulbs can be changed (use bulbs as described above). 5. Replace the panel by relocating and sliding the pegs back into their holes and pushing the top of the panel to reconnect with the magnets. Please note that replacement bulbs are not covered by the guarantee of the product. Cleaning The fire can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. Do not use metal polish or harsh scouring agents.
