Connection to devices equipped with DOCK CONTROL terminals
The iPod can be operated from an amplifier or system device equipped with a DOCK CONTROL terminal connected to the ASD-1R.

Set the MODE SELECT switch on the ASD-1R's bottom panel to "DOCK CONTROL". Connect as shown at the left.
Also refer to the operating instructions of the device being connected. Connect the included AC adapter to the ASD-1R's DC IN terminal and plug the AC adapter into a power outlet. Load the iPod onto the ASD-1R.

Connecting the ASD-1R and a device equipped with a system control (SYSTEM CONNECTOR) terminal
The iPod can be operated using the system remote control unit equipped with system control (SYSTEM CONNECTOR) terminal connected to the ASD-1R. Use the system remote control unit's cassette deck or CD recorder buttons to operate the iPod. For details, see "Remote control buttons and operations" (

Be sure the MODE SELECT switch is set to the same position in step 1 as the input terminal used for connection. Also refer to the operating instructions of the device being connected. Connect the included AC adapter to the ASD-1R's DC IN terminal and plug the AC adapter into a power outlet. Load the iPod onto the ASD-1R.

Functions and operation
When the ASD-1R and a device equipped with a DOCK CONTROL terminal are connected
· By connecting the ASD-1R and a DENON audio device equipped with a DOCK CONTROL terminal, it is possible to display the iPod's status on the connected audio device's on-screen display or regular display section and operate the iPod. · For instructions on operations, see the operating instructions of the connected audio device. NOTE: · On some devices it is possible to adjust the iPod's volume, but the volume output from the ASD-1R cannot be adjusted. · Be careful with the volume when adjusting the iPod's volume while listening through headphones.

· When the ASD-1R and a system device equipped with a system control (SYSTEM CONNECTOR) terminal are connected, the iPod can be operated with the cassette deck or CD recorder remote control buttons. · Operate according to the setting of the MODE SELECT switch on the ASD-1R's bottom panel. Troubleshooting
If a problem should arise, first check the following. 1. Are the connections correct? 2. Have you operated the receiver according to the Operating Instructions? If this unit is not operating properly, check the items listed in the table below. Should the problem persist, there may be a malfunction. Disconnect the power immediately and contact your store of purchase. Symptom Cause
