8 pin mini ISO (blue) Multi-application! Applies to: Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Smart, Blaupunkt & Grundig 8 pin mini ISO Aftermarket radios Multi-application! Applies to: Alpine (MBUS), Kenwood, Panasonic, Sanyo & Sony, JVC In the case of Panasonic version attach the ying yellow wire to a +12V supply. The ice>Link harness for these applications is attached in the same way as a CD changer. Please refer to the installation instructions for your radio. Aftermarket Important! If the harness has a free red wire, disregard unless installing in Fiat Multipla. On Fiat Multipla only, attach the red wire to a +12V supply. Simply insert the blue plug into the "C" socket (upper right) on the back of the radio. Installation Guide 14 pin mini ISO (blue & green) Multi-application! Applies to: Becker, Porsche & Ferrari 8 pin mini ISO Simply insert the blue and green plugs into the "B" and "C" sockets (upper right) on the back of the radio. The two free wires (brown and orange)can be used for audio input from a cellular handsfree kit on some radios. The connection between your car & your iPod www.dension.com Preparation Before starting installation: Preparation BMW Installation Disconnect your car battery ensureing that you have details of your radio's security code if applicable On BMW vehicles equipped with a CD changer, disconnect the 3 pin and 6 pin plugs from the rear of the CD changer Familarise yourself with the connections that attach to the ice>Link Plus module: Connection to car harness or 4m extension Important! Before starting installation, remove the 3 pin and 6 pin plugs from the rear of the CD changer (if installed). The radio connector in these vehicles is either a BMW 17 pin or a Quadlock connector. Remove the connector from the back of the radio. Attach the ice>Link harness between the car's connector and radio. Ensure that the white connector on the ice>Link harness is located in the socket nearest the centre of the radio such that the wires are nearer the centre of the radio. If the car's original connector in this location has more than 4 wires, disassemble the original connector and the ice>Link connector and swap the pins from the ice>Link connector with those in the same location in the car's connector. Reinsert the car's connector to the back if the radio. If there is a short black lead in the ice>Link 10 pin connector, this can be ignored. 17 pin Quadlock BMW VW/Audi/Skoda/SEAT Important! The free black lead on the ice>Link harness must be grounded to the chassis of the radio. There is typically a tab connector on the back of the radio that can be used. 8 pin mini ISO connector (blue) Simply insert the blue plug into the "C" socket (upper right) on the back of the radio. 20 pin mini ISO breakin/out connector (red) Remove the existing mini ISO plug(s) (if tted) from the back of the radio. Insert this into the red socket on the ice>Link harness. Insert the red plug on the ice>Link harness into the mini ISO sockets on the back of the radio. 12 pin Quadlock "C" connector (white) Remove the existing quadlock plug from the back of the radio if tted and replace with the ice>Link harness. If the car's original connector in this location has more than 4 wires, disassemble the original connector and the ice>Link connector and swap the pins from the ice>Link connector with those in the same location in the car's connector. Reinsert the car's connector to the back of the radio. VW Group Connection to iPod cradle/cable car with more than 4 pins (left) car with more than 4 pins (left) Cradle Assembly Attach the cradle base to a at surface using at least two screws. We recommend the use of a damage-free mount: Cradle Place the cradle onto the cradle base. The cradle's pin is keyed and will only mount in one direction. Aligh the cradle as required, then tighten the grub screw with the allen key. Navigation - 3-series E46, 5-series E39, X5 E53 only The radio tuner box in these vehicles is located in the boot. Extend the connection between the ice>Link harness and the ice>Link Plus module using the optional 4m extension cable. Installation troubleshooting: iPod can be controlled from the radio but there is no audio. The 10 pin connector at the base of the 17 pin radio connector is inserted incorrectly. Ensure that it is located in the socket nearest the middle of the radio with cables nearer the middle of the radio. Navigation/Bluetooth/TV audio has been lost Place the pins from the ice>Link 10 or 12 pin connector into the corresponding locations in the car's original 10 or 12 pin connector and insert the car's original 10 or 12 pin connector into the back of the radio. Radio display reads "No Magazine" / Erratic radio control Remove the 3 pin and 6 pin plugs from the rear of the CD changer. Installation troubleshooting: Radio does not enter CD changer mode; iPod is not charging. The free black lead on the ice>Link harness is not grounded to the chassis of the radio. Once tightened, do not force the cradle to move - you will break it! A variety of self-adhesive spacers are supplied to adjust the cradle to accept iPod models of di erent thicknesses. ...
