Place the nylon washer between the round reader probe and the wall plate. 2. Mount the round reader probe into the wall plate, secure with the retaining ring. 3. Mount the Interface(ELK-MA190) near the ELK Magic Module(ELK-MM443) that will be used for this application. 4. Remove the plastic cover from the Interface. 5. Run a 2 wire cable from the reader probe location to the Interface location. 6. Connect the reader probe's GREY wire to the "PROBE DATA" terminal. 7. Connect the reader probe's BLACK wire to the "PROBE NEG" terminal. (the data probe's 2 wire length can be extended up to 650 feet with 22 gauge twisted wire) 8. Connect the Quick Connect Data Cable from the J5 connector on the Magic Module to the Data Interface jack. (Note: an X-10 power line interface module can not be connected to the Magic Module when using an ELK-MA190) 9. Replace the plastic cover on the Interface. 10. When properly programmed and power applied, the unique serial number in the Dallas iButton can be read by the Magic Module just by touching the metal part of the key to the reader probe. 11. Each Magic Module with the original 256 bytes of program memory space will hold approximately 20 to 30 iButtons. Additional iButtons may be programmed into another Magic Module connected to the data bus. The Magic Module with 4k bytes of memory will hold approximately 512 iButtons. ...
