Introduction
1.1. What is in the Box?
The navigation System box includes the following items: 1. NAVIGATION 2. GPS Receiver 3. In-Car power cable 4. Air Suction Mount 5. USB Cable 6. CD including: l l l l Navigation application(Desktop application) Microsoft ActiveSync CD User's Manual U.S. and Canada map data.

1.2. System Requirements
Desktop or Laptop PC system requirements include: Windows 2000 or XP operating system. Windows 98 in not recommended. 266 MHZ Intel Pentium® II microprocessor with MMXTM or equivalent. 64 MB RAM. 80 MB available hard drive space. CD ROM drive.

1.3.1. Downloading Map via NAVIGATION
* When downloading map to an internal storage memory or SD card via Navigation for the first time.
FOR INTERNAL MEMORY INSTALLATION CHECK LIST: * Installation Requirements: NAVIGATION USB Cable ActiveSync CD Installation & Map CDs
1. Insert Installation CD (CD 1) into your PC.
2. Map Loader setup program will start automatically. Follow the instructions.
3. When the Map Loader program installation is completed, click "Finish"

4. Map Loader program will be launched automatically.
5. Close Map Loader program, and remove setup CD.

6. Insert ActiveSync Installation CD into your PC.
7. Follow the ActiveSync Installation. Click "Next" until you get to "Get Connected" screen.

8. Once ActiveSync installation is completed, you will see the "Get Connected" screen. DO NOT CLICK "NEXT".

9. Connect your navigation to your USB port using the USB cable provided. Please wait while your PC recognizes the connection of THE navigation via USB. It may take up to 30 seconds.
NOTE: Once navigation is recognized by PC, you will see following screens.

Let Windows search for the best driver. If needed, the driver files are located in: D:\(Your CD Drive) l If Windows asks for specific drive location, select the current CD-Rom drive and click "OK".
10. If the navigation is successfully installed in your PC, the "Setup a Partnership" screen will automatically appear. Select "NO".
*Important: select "NO"

1.3.2. Downloading Map via SD card reader
* When downloading map to a blank SD card via SD card reader for the first time.

1.4. Navigation hardware installation
1. Installing navigation in the Car l Navigation can be installed on any glass surface. We recommend that you install navigation on the windshield below the center, between the driver seat and passenger seat. l When the suction cup of the navigation holder is placed into position, firmly push into the switch, which will lock the holder in place.

When the warning sign has appeared, read the following message and proceed by tapping the "OK" button.

Checking GPS
When you first use navigation unit, it can take from five to fifteen minutes to receive a satellite signal. Thereafter, it should take approximately 90 seconds to receive signals. The GPS Info screen displays.

3.
Getting Acquainted with Navigation
System
When you start navigation System, the downloaded map displays in Map View. This provides an expanded view of the map area around the vehicle location. If you have a GPS signal, the map defaults to the current location.
If you do not have a GPS signal, the map defaults to the last location. The vehicle icon displays as a green, yellow, or red arrow on the map. The color indicates the number of available satellites. At the bottom of the map is the vehicle location.

To see detailed information, for the vehicle location, do one of the following: l l Tap on the location description at the bottom of the map. Tap on the map location and select Info from the Pop Up menu.
3.1. Moving Around the Map
You can tap the pointer on the map and drag it in the direction you want it to move: up down, right or left. When you remove the pointer from the map, it centers in on the selected location. This lets you have considerable control over your viewing area.

Options Destination
Description Sets the destination by address, intersection, points of interest, favorite locations, or recent locations.
Route Options Simulation Display Options Return to Map
Manages your route preferences. Starts/stops the current routing simulation. Sets the map orientation, screen color on the navigation unit, automatic or manual guidance, and the display of POI icons. Displays an expanded view of the map area around the vehicle location.
GPS Info
Displays GPS status information.
3.3. Setting Options
Through navigation System, you can set the following preferences: l l Map Display View. Routing Options.

Map View
1. To display the map in Map View, tap the Menu button > Return to Map icon. The Map

2. From the Display Options screen select a map orientation, as follows: l l Heading Up to automatically orient the map in the direction of vehicle travel. North Up to maintain the map in a North/South position.

Setting Route Options
Route methods: l l l l Ferries : l l Include to include ferries in the route. Exclude to omit ferries from the route. Quickest Route to calculate a route with minimum travel time. Shortest Route to calculate a route with minimum travel distance. Major to include major roads, such as highways. Local for local streets.
Toll roads option: l l Include to include toll roads in the route. Exclude to omit toll roads from the route.
Carpool lanes: l l Include to include carpool lanes in the route. Exclude to omit carpool lanes from the route.

4.
Using The Navigation System
The calculated route for a destination displays in blue on the map. If you miss a turn in the route, navigation system recalculates the route and briefly displays "Recalculating Route" on the map display.
