WINDOWS 95/98 DINO THE DINOSAUR (instructions) Taking care of your pet is Very important NAMING YOUR PET When you first start your 3D pet, the birth certificate will appear. Enter it's name and click the oval 'enter game' window. CONTROL PANEL To use the Control Panel simply move your cursor to the top left of the screen and the panel will scroll on allowing you to view and use the contents. PANEL BUTTONS JUNGLE DESERT GLACIER LAVA CAVE ENTRANCE All the screen buttons will remain blacked out until your Dino has explored that area by himself, only then will you be able to click on these buttons to explore yourself. This takes a little time but once Dino has explored these areas of his world you are free to roam at any time. Icon: Dino's food - click this button on and you will be able to lay an egg, after a short while the food will hatch and dino will begin the hunt. Icon: Rocky - this strange creature is Dino's favorite toy. Use the cursor keys and ENTER to activate and use Rocky. Icon: Dino says: Clicking this will instruct Dino to go to the jungle and play the game, again it remains blacked out until Dino has been there himself. Icon: Drink - this will instruct Dino to go to the cave and have a drink. POWER GUAGES To the top right of the screen there are Dino's power bars, these need to be monitored closely for Dino to be Healthy and Happy. Icon: The height of your pet. Icon: Hot healthy your pet is. Icon: How much water your pet has in his body. Icon: How happy your pet is. Icon: How much food your pet has in his belly. DINO SAYS Dino will play a sequence of notes. Once it has finished you must copy the exact notes it played in the same sequence. To do this, simply click on the stone with the mouse. If your score is higher than 3 you can enter your name on the high score table. To exit click the Dino Says button on the control panel. HEALING YOUR DINOSAUR The only place you can heal your Dino is in the Glacier zone where there is a health igloo, simply click on it, from there your cursor will change to a cross, then click on Dino to make him better. PICK UP DINO You can pick up your pet by holding the right mouse button on any part of the screen to call. PET THOUGHTS When your Dino wants something or it is worried a thought bubble will appear, the most important ones appear longer than others. It's fairly important to deal with then promptly. SAVING AND EXITING Press ESC at any time during the gam, this will take you to the babysitting screen, which gives you the choice of assigning a babysitter to look after Dino or leave him by himself. THE BABYSITTER If you cannot look after Dino for more than 24 hours, then leaving it with the babysitter will take care of it while you're away, although even that won't be as effective as looking after yourself. To activate the babysitter click on the right hand box, which has a picture of Dino in some hands, from there it will exit the game. (TIPS) Eggs can be under threat by scavengers; press left mouse button on them to instruct Dino to attack. Place eggs in zones where there are no scavengers, but beware they can travel around scouting for them.
