QUICK START-UP INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1: INSTALLING A.I.TM PUZZLER Insert the A.I. Puzzler CD into the CD-ROM drive, and follow the directions on the screen. You must have the A.I. Puzzler CD in the CD-ROM drive to play the game. If Setup does not begin automatically, see the Readme file on the A.I. Puzzler CD. WELCOME TO A.I. PUZZLER This is your chance to solve mind-bending puzzles that bring A.I. to life. Use your keen ability to solve puzzles and you will reveal unreleased A.I. content. Your puzzle adventure begins in the Swinton Home. After you solve all the puzzles in the Swinton Home, you gain access to four other areas. Click one of the buttons under the navigational globe to move to another area. Each area is divided into three stages of difficulty. If you solve all three stages in each area, a sixth area will unlock containing the most challenging puzzles. A.I. PUZZLER EXTRA FEATURES BONUS CHIPS Hints: If you get stuck, use a Hint chip to place a single puzzle piece. Wildcards: If you get really stuck, use a Wildcard chip to completely solve the puzzle. TM STEP 2: STARTING A.I. PUZZLER 1. On the A.I. Puzzler main screen, type your name and click OK. 2. To start solving a puzzle, click Play and then one of the bright puzzle buttons. The game automatically saves your progress as you work on each puzzle. THE SCRAPBOOK All of the A.I. content you reveal is automatically saved in your scrapbook. The scrapbook also keeps track of your best times for each puzzle. To see a puzzle's solved time, move your mouse cursor over the puzzle image. CAUTION Once activated, this program may cause puzzle addiction. CLUE Hint and Wildcard chips are hidden behind puzzles ­ find them! Click any of your puzzle images or rewards to view them. Use the navigational globe and the stage selector to find the puzzle or reward you want to review. Visit the Microsoft® A.I. THE PUZZLES In any area, click a puzzle button to play that puzzle. Puzzles get harder as you move through the stages. Listed here are the types of puzzles you will encounter. A.I. PUZZLER OPTIONS Slices: Rebuild an object by stacking, rotating, and flipping its slices. Home: Click the Home button to go to the Main Screen. Find and Fill: Find a hidden object among intersecting outlines, then fill it with one color. Focus Point: Swap distorted fragments of a picture to assemble the original image. Overlap: Reveal an entire image by properly placing overlapping image fragments. Rotascope: Compose an image by sliding tiles on concentric rings. Sound/Music/Timer: You can turn these features on or off in the Options screen. Puzzles Only: In this mode, you can strengthen your puzzle-solving skills or try to beat your best time.
