A INTRODUCTION The Introduction describes the components of and operating procedures associated with the Garmin G1000 Pilot's Guide binder. · Tab "5 ­ Transponder": This document describes the operation of the G1000 Transponder. · Tab "6 ­ Audio Panel": This document describes the operation of the G1000 Audio Panel and includes an aircraft-specific supplemental section. · Tab "7 ­ Engine Indication System": This document describes the operation of the G1000 Engine Indication System and includes procedures on leaning to maximize flight efficiency. · Tab "8 ­ Multi Function Display": This document describes the operation of the G1000 Multi Function Display (MFD) and includes all GPS/Navigation flight information. · Tab "9 ­ Annunciations and Alerts": This document augments the information contained in the Aircraft Flight Manual Supplement in that it lists and describes all of the annunciations and alerts that pertain to the operation of the AHRS, system and aircraft interface. · Tab "Appendices": Information that is supplemental to the various pilot's guide documents is presented in the Appendices in the following sequence: · Appendix A ­ SD Card Use · Appendix B ­ Abbreviations, Acronyms and NAV Terms · Appendix C ­ Questions & Answers · Appendix D ­ Map Datums · Appendix E ­ General TIS Information · Appendix F ­ Map Symbols · Appendix G ­ G1000 System Specifications · Tab "Index": This document contains an index for the entire G1000 Pilot's Guide binder. BINDER CONTENTS The G1000 Pilot's Guide binder consists of the following documents: · Front Matter: This document contains copyright information, a record of current part numbers and revision levels for each document contained in the G1000 Pilot's Guide binder, a table of contents, a list of figures, a list of tables, warranty information and warnings. NOTE: The Front Matter and Index portions of the G1000 Pilot's Guide binder are assigned the same part number and revision level. · Tab "1 ­ Introduction": This introductory document should serve as a user's guide to the G1000 Pilot's Guide binder. · Tab "2 ­ System Overview": This document describes all of the major components of the G1000 Integrated Cockpit System and includes both a system block diagram and a brief explanation of each Line Replaceable Unit (LRU). · Tab "3 ­ Primary Flight Display": This document describes the operation of the Primary Flight Display (PFD) and includes communication, navigation, flight control, annunciations and alerts, and flight planning information. · Tab "4 ­ NAV/COM": This document describes the operation of the navigation (VOR/ILS) and radio communication capability of the G1000 Integrated Cockpit System. 190-00302-00 Rev. The Flight Manual Supplement always supersedes information found in this Pilot's Guide binder. Appendices Page numbering for the Appendices reflects each appendix alphabetical level and is thus of the following format: "c-d" where c = appendix alphabetical level d = page number within the said appendix For example, page "B-3" represents the third page of Appendix B. Index Page numbering for the Index portion of G1000 Pilot's Guide binder is of the following format: "I-e" where e = page number within the Index USING THE BINDER Part Number Content The documents contained in the G1000 Pilot's Guide binder are subject to change in both part numbers and revision levels. In order to ensure that the G1000 Pilot's Guide binder contains the most current document part numbers and revision levels, please refer to the Record of Part Numbers presented in the Front Matter portion of the binder. Page Numbering Format General Page numbering is of the following format: "a-b" where a = binder document tab number b = page number within the said document For example, page number "5-3" represents the third page of the document located under the fifth tab of the G1000 Pilot's Guide binder ­ namely, the G1000 VHF NAV/COM Pilot's Guide. NOTE: Page numbering for the Front Matter portion G1000 Pilot's Guide binder is presented in Roman numerals without a prefix. For example, page "ii" represents the second page of the Front Matter portion of the binder. Section Numbering Format Section numbering is of the following format: "a.f" where a = binder document tab number f = section number within the said document For example, "8.2" corresponds to the second section of the document located after the eighth tab of the G1000 Pilot's Guide binder ­ namely, the G1000 Multi Function Display Pilot's Guide. 1-2 Garmin G1000 Pilot's Guide Introduction 190-00302-00 Rev. A INTRODUCTION Figure/Table Numbering Format Figure/table numbering is of the following format: "a.f.g" where a = binder document tab number f = section number within the said document g = figure/table number within the said section For example, "Figure 3.4.2" represents the second figure of section 3.4 of the document located under the third tab. NOTE: Figure/table numbering in the Appendices reflects the appendix alphabetical level and the figure/table number within the corresponding appendix. For example, "Figure F.1" represents the first figure of Appendix F. STORING THE BINDER As opposed to the Cockpit Reference Guide and Cockpit Reference Card, the G1000 Pilot's Guide binder is designed to be used as a reference and does not necessarily need to be stored on board the aircraft. Table of Contents and List of Figures/Tables The table of contents for the entire G1000 Pilot's Guide binder is provided in the Front Matter and is followed by both a global list of figures and a global list of tables.
