Regarding the differences between the DZ-BD7HE/DZ-BD7HE (UK) and the DZ-BD70E/ DZ-BD70E (UK), please first refer to "How to Read this Instruction Manual" (p.11). Also, "(UK)" of the DZ-BD7HE (UK)/DZ-BD70E (UK) is omitted in this manual unless otherwise description of difference is needed. Before opening the CD-ROM included with this product, please read p.184. After reading the Instruction Manual, store it safely.

For Your Safety
The power switch turns the camcorder on and off, leaving the date/time feature unaffected. If the camcorder is to be left unattended for a long period of time, turn it off.

The liquid crystal display (LCD) panel is made by highly precise technology. More than 99.99% of its picture elements (pixels) are effective, but some (less than 0.01%) may appear as coloured bright dots. This does not indicate a fault as the LCD panel stretches the limits of current technology.
CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT CAUTION This product contains a laser diode of higher class than 1. To ensure continued safety, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Avoid using and storing the battery pack in places subject to direct sunlight, high temperatures, or near a flame source.

Important for United Kingdom (for DZ-BD7HE (UK) / DZ-BD70E (UK)) The mains lead on this equipment is supplied with a moulded plug incorporating a fuse, the value of which is indicated on the pin face of the plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced, an ASTA or BSI approved BS 1362 fuse must be used of the same rating. If the fuse cover is detachable never use the plug with the cover omitted. If a replacement fuse cover is required, ensure it is of the same colour as that visible on the pin face of the plug. Fuse covers are available from your dealer. DO NOT cut off the mains plug from this equipment. If the plug fitted is not suitable for the power points in your home or the cable is too short to reach a power point, then obtain an appropriate safety approved extension lead or consult your dealer. If there is no alternative to cutting off the mains plug, ensure that you dispose of it immediately, having first removed the fuse, to avoid a possible shock hazard by inadvertent connection to the mains supply. IMPORTANT The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: Blue= Neutral, Brown= Live As these colours may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured BLUE or BLACK. The wire coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured BROWN or RED. On no account connect either of these wires to the terminal marked E or by the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow. Read these instructions. Store these instructions for convenient accessibility. Heed all warnings. Observe all instructions. Do not use the camcorder near water. Clean the camcorder using only a dry cloth. Do not block any ventilation openings. The camcorder should be placed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Do not place the camcorder near heat sources such as radiators, heat-registering areas, stoves, or other heat-generating apparatus (including amplifiers). Protect the mains lead and cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at the plugs, the mains, and at connection points to the camcorder. Only use the attachments and accessories specified by the manufacturer. Use the camcorder only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the camcorder. When using a cart to move the camcorder, use caution to avoid injury from tip-over. Unplug the camcorder during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. Refer all servicing to qualified servicing personnel. Servicing will be required when the camcorder is damaged in any way, such as if the mains lead, cord, or plug is damaged, liquid is spilled or foreign objects fall into the camcorder, the camcorder is exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or is dropped. Do not drip or splash liquids onto the camcorder or place the camcorder near objects filled with liquid such as vases. Use the equipment (AC adapter/charger) near the mains with easy accessibility.
