Die SOUNDMACHINES Philosophie Zur Philosophie von Cream Machine und Crunch Master gehört es, daß nicht nur Röhrenvorstufe, sondern auch eine Röhrenendstufe mit Ausgangstransformator entscheidend zur Charakteristik des typischen vollen Röhrensounds beiträgt. Das so erzeugte Signal wird durch ein Dämpfungsglied auf Line- bzw. Instrumentlevel abgeschwächt und durch einen Cabinetulator dem Soundverhalten einer 4 x 12" Celestion Gitarrenbox angeglichen. Die integrierte Röhrenendstufe erlaubt es auch, eine Lautsprecherbox direkt anzusteuern, wobei die erzielbare Lautstärke durchaus ausreicht, massive Probleme mit den Nachbarn zu bekommen. They use the latest in all-tube technology and have been designed to be compatible with a wide range of ancillary equipment. Features such as the tube preamp and power amp, passive load and the unique Hughes & Kettner Cabinet Simulator, have been designed into these compact packages, to help you get the most out of the product, whether you're using it on stage, in the studio or at home. The following notes will guide you through the many options that have been provided, some of which may not be immediately apparent. So, take some time. Read them through and experiment! If you have questions or suggestions, we'd be happy to hear from you. Hughes and Kettner Sound Machines were designed by guitarists and we'd appreciate your input. The Sound Machine Philosophy The only way to achieve a genuine and desirable all-tube sound is by feeding the signal, not only through a tube preamp stage, but also through a tube output stage and output transformer. The overtones generated by the tube output stage are an integral part of tube sound, particularly when the amp is being overdriven. This is why both the Cream Machine and the Crunch Master contain not only a tube preamplifier, but also a complete tube power amplifier section. After the output transformer, the signal is routed through a passive load, which steps it down to either line or instrument level. It then passes to the Cabinet Simulator, which electronically reproduces the sound of a miked-up Celestion 4 x 12 cab. The tube power amp can be connected directly to a loudspeaker and will function more than adequately as a practice amp for use at home. It's great for really over-the-top Metal overdrive, too. The exact amount of preamp or power amp overdrive can be set by using the Gain and Master controls. Single coils are no problem there's plenty of gain to get that warm, singing overdriven Strat sound you've always wanted. They should be compatible with whatever power amps and effects devices you may be using. Available as an option is either a single or a double 19 inch rack mount adapter. At the rear of the Soundmachines is an additional input jack socket to simplify rack connection.
