CAUTION! When you create a Privacy Zone, the Iomega Mini USB drive is formatted. ALL data on the drive will be lost. Backup your files onto another drive before you create a Privacy Zone. DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLATION 1. Go to the Iomega website (http://www.iomega.com). 2. Follow the prompts to begin downloading the Iomega Mini Lock application. 3. After accepting the license agreement, choose "Save this file to disk" and save it to your Iomega Mini USB drive. 4. Unzip to extract the .exe and readme files. 5. Double click on the .exe file to start using Mini Lock. CREATING A PRIVACY ZONE 1. Select the removable disk drive that you have assigned to your Iomega Mini USB drive, and double click the Mini Lock icon. 2. Choose your preferred language from the language selection box and click OK, then click OK again in the next screen. LANGUAGE SELECTION SCREEN 3. Enter the following information in the Mini Lock Format window: a. Your password (required) b. Re-enter the same password to confirm (required) c. A hint to remind you of your password (optional) d. Move the slide bar up or down to designate the size of your Privacy Zone for the first time. The maximum Privacy Zone is limited to 90% of the capacity of your Iomega Mini USB drive. The area that will be secured is shown in RED. FORMAT WINDOW Page 2 Mini Lock 4. When you have set the Privacy Zone size, click OK. 5. To proceed with the format operation, click OK in the Mini Lock Format Warning Window. (Please read the CAUTION note at top of the previous page.) After the format operation is complete, click OK again. You can now login to your Privacy Zone. FORMAT WARNING WINDOW USING YOUR PRIVACY ZONE Logging Into Your Privacy Zone 1. Double click the Mini Lock shortcut on your desktop. Select your language again, then click OK. The Mini Lock Login window will open. LOGIN SCREEN 2. To login into your Privacy Zone, enter your password and click OK. If you have forgotten your password, click Hint. If you type in your password incorrectly, you will receive a message. After you enter the correct password, a successful login message is displayed. PASSWORD HINT 3. If you do not successfully enter your password after five attempts, Mini Lock is automatically terminated to protect your secured data. If this happens, remove your Iomega Mini USB drive and re-insert it. This will give you another five attempts to enter the correct password. NOTE: If you cannot remember the password, you can reformat the drive, but all data will be lost. Logging Out of Your Privacy Zone 1. Save and close all files that you have opened from your Iomega Mini USB drive. 2. Double click the Mini Lock icon. PRIVACY ZONE VIEW 3. Click OK in the Mini Lock Logout window to logout. Page 3 Mini Lock CUSTOMIZING YOUR SETTINGS 1. To customize Mini Lock for your desktop, click Settings from the Mini Lock Login window. SETTINGS SCREEN 2. Click any of the options listed to select them. Each option is described in the Description field as your mouse passes over it, including: · Create Shortcut in Quick Launch Bar · Create Shortcut on Desktop · No login confirmation · No logout confirmation · Language selection 3. Click OK to activate the options selected. CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD 1. To change your Privacy Zone password, click Settings from the Mini Lock login window then click Change Password. CHANGE PASSWORD DIALOG SCREEN 2. When the Mini Lock Dialog screen opens, enter your old password, your new password, your new password once again to confirm it, and a hint if you need to. Click OK to exit the Dialog window. Click OK again in the next window. Page 4 Mini Lock CHANGING YOUR PRIVACY ZONE CAUTION! Changing the size of your Privacy Zone requires formatting your Iomega Mini USB drive. ALL data on the drive will be lost. Proceed as follows: 1. Double click the Mini Lock shortcut on your desktop. Select your language again, then click OK. The Mini Lock Login window will open. 2. Click Settings, then click Format in the Mini Lock Settings window. 3. Enter a password and confirm it by entering it a second time. 4. Enter a hint in case you forget your password and need a reminder. 5. Set the size of your Privacy Zone with the slide bar. 6. Click OK, then click OK again in the next window. 7. After the format operation is complete, click OK again. You can now login to your Privacy Zone. REMOVING YOUR PRIVACY ZONE If you want to disable your Privacy Zone and use the entire Iomega Mini USB drive space for the Public Zone, proceed as follows: 1. Double click the Mini Lock shortcut on your desktop. Select your language again, then click OK. The Mini Lock Login window will open. 2. Click Settings, then click Format in the Mini Lock Settings window. 3. Set the size of your Privacy Zone with the slide bar to 0%. 4. Click OK to confirm the operation, then click OK in the next two screens. 7. After the format operation is complete, click OK. You can now use your drive without a password.
